Ball after ball at the top of Kane's off stump for dots and he's doing nothing to try and break it up. As loath as I am to criticise the great man, he needs to do a little more.
Why?
He's 20 off 32 balls. If he's still there in 30 overs I have no doubt that he'll be scoring at well over run a ball.
Because 250 is not going to be enough.
Have some patience for goodness sake. He's building an innings.

This is a matter of NZ batting 50 overs & hoping for a miracle
Reality is how many many wickets India lose in their inevitable victory
Not sure if you are on the windup, but NZ is doing just fine right now.
We were in trouble at 10-1 off 7 overs. We aren't in trouble at 52/1 off 14 overs.
Last 7 overs have been run a ball with no wickets and not really trying all that hard to score quickly.

We are now down to $3.25 at the TAB which means we are ahead of where we started.
That's fair IMO. Kane is well into double figures and there is no prospect he will prematurely run out of partners. Would definitely have taken this start at the toss.

Great ball. Nicholls can hold his head high - he did a job for us.
He did, but that wasn't great technique. Needed to stay a lot tighter when the ball is coming in.
Time for Rosco to stand up and be counted in a big game.
