So Fakhar blithers his way to 13 off 30, then hits out meekly to the field on his 31st delivery.

He could open the batting for us...

It wouldn't require me to change what I've been calling our openers if he did defect and open for us.

@Donsteppa double figures is a bit too much to expect isn't it?

That point has already been made in this thread. To play the other side, if they had beaten the Windies then they would be in the semis - simple as that.

@NTA Pakistan lost to Afghanistan, smashed by Windies and India and well beaten by Australia...

Yeah but I don't read all your kiwi drivel about Cricket - after you get a whole page of worshipping Kane's genitals it is kind of worth skipping to the end.

    😉

    @Bones
They beat Afghanistan, you are probably thinking of the warm up game.

Earlier in the tournament we were being called lucky and I was thinking that if we are consistently lucky then it ain't luck. After the last 3 games I'm a bit more happy to accept the luck factor.

East Pakistan fought a war of Independence against Pakistan. It is pretty widely accepted that Pakistan military carried out genocide with up to 3 mill killed and 400K women raped.

Declaration of independence was prompted by mass killings against East Bengali dissidents.

Most Bangladeshi's wouldn't have been around 50 years ago but it sounds a bit more serious to me than an underarm incident so guessing it still lingers on the consciousness.

    Is that possible?

Underarm could only be topped if the pub simultaneously ran out of beer.

The fix is in all right. Pakistan not even trying to makes this happen. More interested in winning this game and claiming a moral victory because of the vagaries of NRR perhaps?

Yep they're not even having a crack. Weird. I'd be pretty pissed if the BCs played like this when needing to boost NRR for a place in the semis. Pakistan really are a mystery and that mystery seems to regularly contribute to them missing out at CWCs...

Great performance by Lee Van Cleef in that flick.

Can we realistically be knocked out? Or are we in unless we see an Inzamam Ul Huq type innings?

60 off 37 doesn’t really cut it in today’s game.

Also tiny boundaries and Harris and Larsen bowling. Please

Mate don't come at me with your facts and figures.

Inzi's taking the game away from us in '92 was the single greatest innings in an ODI bar none. FACT.

🤔 dunno... I'm having a hard time picking between Ponting and Gilchrist. We're taking about innings in a CWC final, right?
