@rotated I think it's a player issue. They're just fucking stupid.
I’m not so sure, stupidity has a certain naievity that can make for some enterprising (albeit frustrating) rugby with ball in hand from time to time.
So you'd suggest they're coached to make dumb decisions?

few of those passes just didnt need to be thrown...

Game plan was to play tight, and use Akira as a distributed or decoy. Played right into their hands.

Over the years coaches get to shoulder much of the blame,but in reality it’s the players that screw up time after time after time with dumb plays or poor options...personally I think you could have the best coaches in the world coaching this mob..and I don’t think much would change...its just brains and attitude that left this franchise down..

Decision making and attitude has to sit with the coaching, but super level is too late. Is there a problem with school/junior level coaching in Auckland?

I dunno, check the Mitre 10 cup.

Teams with the best coaches aren't dumb. Coincidence?

Just torture being a Blues fan.
Ain’t that the truth! We did more than enough to win that game, but just couldn’t finish any of the pressure
-
@KiwiMurph Gotta say as a Chiefs fan I know how you feel this season

I don’t know, if so that last scrum was a perfectly executed set piece.

They can identify and recruit smarter players?

@Cyclops I don’t think coaching at school level has got anything to do with it..many kids that have schooled in Auckland have gone on to cut careers in other provinces or other franchises...
It’s about trusting in your systems ,taking a tackle and relying on the cleaners to their roles..,not off loading a pass when not required..calm heads and strong on field leadership provides that..
