So I didn't expect a win in the lead up, but then when the Chiefs were up I thought they were going to walk it, now I'm going to pissed off with the loss.

Do these morons not know that you can also turn it over from a scrum?

This is so frustrating, I think it paints the picture of what this year will be like for the Chiefs - potential spoilers. That’s about it.

Yep, looks like a ‘rebuilding for 2020/speculating about Colin Cooper’s job’ year already...

Well that's the definition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Ridiculous.

Josh Ioane's boot basically won it for the Landers.

Well, the Chiefs 1st choice backline will cut anyone up, but boy they'd better hope no one else gets injured.

I don't see why Marshall is getting hate for saying someone should not be forced to leave the field for a complete accident. If cards worked, wouldn't there be less head collisions now and less cards?

Because he carries on like a prize chook continually making adamant statements as fact then changing them, then carrying on even more.
I agree with your point about a RC for an accident but, sloppy technique that causes actual head injuries is what is being ruled on.

Thought Luke Whitelock had a great second half. A very underrated player

A Smith and bench won game just as Chiefs bench maybe cost them? Smith just brought direction and attitude missing with Hammington n Ioane together

Nothing fucks me off more than your last chance being snuffed out by an appalling line out. Uncontested as well.

Highlanders ability to control the ball for the last 10 was impressive.

Yeah, that was always going to be the problem. We are just too thin for depth due to Cooper’s shit selecting and we looked terrible after BBBR got hit.

Looking at both these teams and all NZ teams outside Crusaders you see a trend. Those four teams are going to rely heavily on first choice players and could beat anyone on day. Take a few out and looks a bit thin. Your seasoned ABs like A Smith, ALB looked in a different class to others tonight.
Maybe I'm being a bit critical.

Hopefully that's all the bad out in the first game, to quote my pa.

Liked Parkinson, both Smiths looked hot, Ioane flaky but good for goal - hopefully builds on this. Need to start Hunt. Happy with the FR, apart from Coltman looking like he hasn't played in a couple of years, definitely needs to up his game.

Matchbox20 was quiet, but did well enough. Umaga-Jenson needs to calm down.

I think the Highlanders need to move Hemopo back to lock because with him at 6, there is little to no ball carrying in the backrow(and in the starting pack in general).

Big nope. Hemopo is usually a very good ball carrier. Probably one of his worst games I've seen in this match, definitely not to his standard.
