I'm okay with the outcome. Seems like a strange reasoning. Intent doesn't normally matter.
Intent does matter with "deliberate" knock on, Without assessing intent, how can you call deliberate or not?
It's generally refereed if a player has a genuine chance to catch the ball. So it isn't generally about intent.

Not a deliberate knock on? WTF is the clown smoking?
It's not a deliberate knock on. How many penalties are we gonna have if we start penalising people for accidental knock ons?
It is deliberate because it didn't go backwards and he didn't catch it. That removes any "judgement".
Under that ruling, every knock on is deliberate.

It's not deliberate. Are you saying every forward pass is deliberate now? That's a penalty. And lineouts, where the tap down goes awry and ends up going forward? Penalty.

You might want to learn the laws. A player in possession can knock on ffs.

I guess if you can't deal with the issue at hand you can always come up with your own red herrings.

The good news is that the blues have the talent to win a few games, including NZ derbies. The bad news is that they still have players trying to win the game with some fantastic ‘one-off’ play, rather than trusting their systems and making better decisions. If they had a better HB and better FB I think they’d have won that game. Or a goal kicker, of course.

Right but if a player in possession loses it they didn't catch it and the ball didn't go backwards. So if those are the only two criteria, every knock on is deliberate. If you include possession as a third criteria you still have every knock on not in possession as a penalty (which seems stupid). Good passing shouldn't give the opposition a chance. Going for intercepts is an important defensive tool and part of the balance of rugby (IMO).

How is that a red herring? Player attempts to play it back, it accidentally goes forward. Definite penalty.
But I guess if you can't deal with the issue at hand you can make snide comments and ignore it.

Weird feeling, with a better ref we would have had that. Still lots for us to work on, but far better than last year
The fucking ref?!?? That means for everything he got wrong for blues you need to give points where he got it wrong for red team.
It was your shit first five that could not win the game for you not the ref.
