I know! Isn't it exciting!
Ben Smith is going to carve up at centre in October.

10 is fine. Just need a settled midfield. Problem is Crotty is always injured, SBW is now pretty shit and ALB runs hot and cold
pfft hahaha classic.
It's great how blindly entrenched you are
(and yes, i am completely aware of the enormous irony in that statement, my initial comment was blatant Rancid bait anyway)
ALB gets marked so much harder than all those other midfielders by the way. His hot and cold is way more hot than cold. And it's not like any of the others are consistently outstanding. A bit of consistency of selection might actually help.
But no, we need to see if SBW and Crotty can get through a test...
I suppose you at least admit to that being the most blatant example of pot-kettle-black.
I think Laumapa is a better bet than ALB. He's definitely developed his game well and we'll need a battering ram in the RWC.
you Hurricanes trolls are the worst
Give me ACTC's AB team predictions every day
Oh kindly fark off you dildo-in-mouth, Lycra-wearing twat.
Liverpool will choke 🖕

Better Lycra than some of the bow ties I see him wearing in his fb pics

The only guys that can provide real punch in the midfield are Laumape and SBW. So it depends how important we think that is - I'd say Beauden would quite like a reliable bail-out option. But Laumape doesn't offer much else and SBW will break again.
What we really need is a bloke that can provide that punch but also posses vision for his outsides, a great passing game including a leathal bullet cut-out pass, can kick when required, and absolutely smash fluffybunnies on defense.
So yeah, if Nonu shows form he's a no brainer.

just got a wee chubby reading this. Fark yeah, arguably our greatest 12 ever

@No-Quarter it's funny I don't see Nonu as a battering ram type player, I don't think he's been that in a long time, it doesn't seem a stand out of his play compared to others. Outstanding silky handling, vision and sweet feet are what put him a long way above his peers.
-
@Bones Carter always said he liked having Nonu outside him as a bail-out option. I agree the other parts of his game overshadowed that aspect but the ability to punch up the middle was always there. An absolute nightmare to defend against.

Hmmm....when did he say that?

How well has he been playing in France?
Well, it depended if he looked interested or not. He used to be outstanding when it mattered and his distribution was always superb. A few brain explosions (late and high tackles), which is surprising for a guy with plenty of experience.

Oh gezz you want me to back up a claim with evidence? You know where you are posting right?
I often heard him talk about how good it was to have someone who can reliably get front-foot ball outside him, I guess I could try and dig up some quotes...

Yeah I imagine he probably said something similar to that - although I'd guess it was pre-2012 (at the very latest). I'm thinking probably around 2010/11.

Found this from 2013:
"He's just one of those reliable guys to get you over the gain line whenever you need it. When you need the ball going forward he's a bit of a go-to man. His footwork, his strength, are real attributes ... his experience as well. He's played in a lot of big matches in his career so in an occasion like this he's nice and relaxed and thinking clearly as well."
I don't think we really needed him to play that role later in his career given the pack we had.

Personally, I would rather give DC the exemption to come back and play the WC. He still looks magnificent and playing good rugby too.........
I don't know the incessant calls for Mo'unga to start 10 got a bit tiring toward the end of the season I can only imagine what it would be like if DC were in play.

Yes, while it was said a little tongue in cheek, I still think he would run a better backline than Barrett

Mo’unga for fullback it is then.
