Hopefully the world cup has faster ball though - thi has been pretty stodgy stuff
England have been more effective at slowing things down...

Yup, but they also have some pretty lightning fast backs when required, so a step up from the worst ten man slow-rugby that could be on offer

NZ ... no chance
That's what happens when you forget to look after your Aura.

What a performance from England! Awesome defence and looking sharpe on attack.
As has been mentioned Ireland's issue is they have 1 game plan that they do really well...until they don't. They aim to be more physical than you but England picked a team that stood up to that and gave it back.
All Blacks need to look at that and learn from failings of last year, do they specifically pick a team to be more physical than them? -
Congrats England fans - well deserved. No complaints from me - better team won. Enjoy those beers.

Massive statement by England. Take a bow Cueball and Eddie. Spotted the gaps in the "impregnable" Irish defence and coached their team to executed moves to find them.
It takes a lot (or the opposition being Australia) to get me to cheer for the English Rugby team. But, my God, the hubris of this Irish squad and some of their fans in recent weeks has done it. Guess they shouldn't have spent so much time patting themselves on the back.
-
That was seriously impressive from England. Their pack just pummelled and smashed ireland into submission. Behind a beaten pack, Sexton didn't look so world player of the year-ish.
Ah, it's (relatively) easy to get to 1 or 2 in the world rankings, it's a lot harder to stay there...

@Billy-Tell lol nice quick edit, because Ireland were anything but Impressive
Ireland's stats are better, apart from the one that counts

Ireland's game plan revolves around holding onto the ball and playing error free rugby. The problem is they played much of the game behind the gainline, and they have no plan B.

A come of age game from Owen Farrell. There have been question marks about his temperament for a long time and his leadership since Eddie Jones made him Captain. He stuck rigidly to the game plan and led his troops in confidence and calmness.
The Vunipola brothers are extremely important to England too. They were outstanding today.
-
@Billy-Tell agree, they hold ball one off runners, lots of carries on stats but not dangerous. England's missed tackles were down to game plan of flying up on d, high risk - high reward and if first guy misses second guy hits.

Thanks DM, the beers are tasting pretty sweet tonight. A bad day at the office for your boys but no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Agreed. Scotland will be licking their lips though. Next week should be interesting.

Well done England.
Comprehensive.
Eddie justified in his faith and reliance on Tuilagi and Vunipola Squared.
Some really crisp passing from England created huge gaps and space.
Very good tries.
How did Itoje escape the sin bin for his challenge in the air?
