Cricket - NZ vs Sri Lanka

Watching and still trying to work out what changed from the first 4-5 overs when it was easy going. Latham got a decent nut, as did kane. But Raval and Nichols, ffs! Loose as!
-
Agh! Fucking runouts. These two need to put on a decent stand.
-
CdG is unfortunately turning into the (test cricket) waste of space I feared he might be two years ago, we just had a good run out of him for a while.
Longest NZ tail I can remember when even #7 has turned into a walking wicket in test cricket.
-
I remember when Patel got bulldozed out to square leg by the South African Quicks as a genuine tailender and people were calling for him nevcer to play test cricket again for lack of bottle, but to me CDG is actually a more heinous example - he's selected as a recognised batsman, and must be able to adapt his game to account for situation and pitch - the fact he has demonstrated he canbnot do so and if anything it's wilfully refuses to do so should make him exempt from all future selection at test level.
-
This season has raised a few flags for me - the continued demands on watling to provide quick runs from ball one when he requires some time to settle in and someone like southeee is better suited to be placed above him in the order in such situations...the reliance on a guy who can't bowl or bat in test circumstances in CDG except againts mediocre opposition.
The paucity of actual tests. so mad. -

It's ok Southee is in. He's always good to settle things down.
In some ways a good position for him, low expectations if it goes wrong, but a good chance for quick runs (more likely) or to build an innings (less likely, but fingers crossed).
-
Backing Boult and Wags to have a return to form this test, but we need a fair few more runs to bowl out.

200 looks like it might be a competitive score...
@MN5 Southee will still get grief when he gets out, that’s a given.
Fucking good knock Timmy Boy, potentiality a match changing innings even at this early stage of the game.shouldn't get any grief by playing a calculated aggressive game and playing to his strengths. he's actually played conservatively according to the dictates of the delivery so all power to him and with Watling acting as a fulcrum, they have a great partnership developing hopefully
