Mayweather has decided he'll get rich..er off idiots and in the process whoop some ass
So did anyone watch the whole thing?
I saw a clip of Paul's wild punches at the end of the first and then another clip later in the fight of an exhausted Paul missing punches by a mile.
Sounds like that was most of the action?

Just watched it
Seen a lot worse, a LOT worse from pros.
Despite the height, weight and age difference Paul came out of this the better of the two IMHO
He's athletic and looked the part; he was was game and never backed down; solid left jab; hell of a chin fair play; and in the post-match interview he came across as someone who knows he's a very fortunate 'fan' who gets to do this.
Mayweather obviously playing the long game by not finishing him.
Let's hope Woodley floors Jake Paul.

@duluth I thought about it and then decided to work instead lol.
Saw a handful of highlights and theres a video doing the rounds today of what looks like Mayweather sleeping Paul with a couple in close, but definitely not power, punches. Floyd grabs him just as Paul is about to go down and basically holds him up and sends him off to his corner.
Thats the most dangerous aspect of these types of fights. When a legit boxer fights a novice. The YouTuber does not have a trained neck or chin. He's not worked on that aspect for the amount of time Floyd would have or any other real boxer has. And the little peck on the chin he received highlights that. Someone like Gallen goes ok because he's got no neck. Theres always a bit of boxing thrown in footy training somewhere along the way and by the way he throws punches he's not entirely a novice. He's done this somewhere along the line. But Paul, a natural athlete by the looks to his credit, has not. You can tell by the way he was throwing slaps. The over hand right he threw, was all wrist. If he'd known what to do (and I'll give him props for setting up the opportunity and actually landing a potential KO shot on the greatest defensive fighter of the modern era if not ever) would have been lights out. These cats can't throw proper punches and they don't have the training to take real shots to the head. It's a recipe for disaster. Floyd could have KOd Paul but I think he likes him. He chose to put on a good show(not sure that's what they produced) and looked after Paul, clearly based on that video.

Absolutely all of this. I don’t think casual observers a) know how well boxers can throw a punch and b) know how well boxers can take a punch. I’m sure that even someone not noted for his knockout power like Mayweather could have dropped Paul any time he really felt like it. He’d better make sure in his next self promoting circus that he doesn’t step in the ring with any half decent heavyweight who takes an inkling of a dislike to him.

Well here we are again. Another week another affront to the sport of boxing.
Gallen vs Huni.
Gallen the rugby league Hardman, reformed racist and all time grub. A man of the people...
Huni a celebrated young boxer with the world at his feet. On his way to Tokyo. 3 weeks after another professional fight.
If Gallen wins he deserves respect as a boxer and I'll assume from now on that anyone can be anything. You want to fly a plane with no experience? Have at it Hoss. You feeling froggy and want to fight in the UFC after years of never so much as throwing a punch? Off you go Joe.
If Huni wins it's a finger in the damn.
Youtubers can go 8 rounds with one of the greatest boxers of any period, 6'10 NBA coke head takes on a 5 foot nothing former child singer coke head and 2 of the best heavyweights in the world stare at each other without uttering a word for 5 whole minutes in one of the most awkward face offs in recent memory. The Gypsy King was topless by the way.
The sport as we know it is gone.

Which fight was this ?
Also I don’t know if it’s all bad, back in the 1940s Tony “Two Ton” Galento wrestled an Octopus……
Hopefully it’s just a bad patch although it’s hard to see fighters the likes of Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Shavers etc all grace the sport at the same time again.

@raznomore Huni looked suspect in his last fight against an opponent that can get inside his reach. All this will show is the very shallow pond that is Australian boxing.
-
@antipodean the shallow pond that is world wide heavyweight boxing.

@mn5 I hope you're right but I don't like the odds.
Lamar Odom vs Aaron Carter.
Odom was once a respected Laker. Then he married a Kardashian. Went off the rails as men of the Kardashians usually do. Overdosed in a brothel. Was in a coma for a good while. Has been in and out of rehab but by all accounts was coming good. His net worth is still in the $30m bracket but obviously that's not accurate. Otherwise why else do you take this fight.
Aaron Carter is the younger brother of Nick Carter. The tall blonde Backstreet Boy. Aaron was a teen heart throb a million years ago. Didn't age well. Looks like a crack fiend. Which he is. He definitely needed the pay check as big bro doesnt share his wealth.

Pfffft Huni schools Gallen. Huni's a future world champ and possible gold medallist. The only thing I have a few doubts about him is his power and chin but this is a training run for him tonight.
If he loses, I'll stop watching boxing for good.

Huni could have ended the fight about 4 times but carried him in there, focusing on inside work to the body and using his uppercut. If he bothered using his straight right he probably would have stopped him but looked more focused on getting some practice in.
Credit to Gallen, he's one tough fighter and does belong in the sport.
