Why the hate ? Boxers have to sell fights with personality they can’t just be bland tennis players. Any reason for this attitude ?

I was a fan but he annoys me now. Constantly pretending that he's retired fir attention, plays the mental health card all the time yet that doesn't stop him from making the same boring lame insults all the time, he's a drug cheat (served a not so silent ban between 2016-2018), wasted time by holding the division up by taking rubbish fights against the likes of Chisora, Ngannou (which he arguably lost to), Schwarz etc. After beating Wilder in 2020, all he and his team did was hold the division up. We didn't need to see a 3rd encounter between them which took forever to make, and he is part of the reason as to why the division was held hostage for so long (AJ too). The only reason why he got in with Usyk was because there was nowhere to go and even that got dragged out to 2024.

How AJ v Wilder and Fury v AJ was never made in their primes is criminal and all should be held accountable. The division could have been good but they all refused to fight each other in their primes, and yeah, as I said, I liked Fury but am sick of him now.

Bring on the next crop of heavys.

    @African-Monkey

I’m over the Fury v AJ debate , the fight that never happened and their fans hijacking every heavyweight boxing thread arguing over who is better . Both finished now. Usyk pretty much finished both their careers .

Do you think Frank will risk putting Moses in with the winner of Dubois v Parker while the opportunity to be the youngest ever champ is still alive ?

Moses doesn't yet deserve a title shot yet...he beat Dempsey McKean - plenty fighters ahead him in the queue
There is talk of Moses v Huni which would be fun fight- Huni has skills but not a great chin 50/50 fight

Yeah I agree there are others who deserve it more but if he was to knock out a huni as well , the discussion to be the youngest ever champ will probably get louder , and if Turki wanted it you just never know . He seems to get what he wants .

His obsession with wanting canelo v Crawford as an example, that fight doesn’t make alot of sense to me given the size difference but I think it will happen.

    Some fair points addressed there.

I like him so I guess I can forgive some of the silliness.

As I said in my post I’m taking this latest ‘retirement’ with a massive pinch of salt

He has retired in the past when it seems he wants to be left alone for a while , perhaps he doesn’t want be in negotiations with aj just yet and will do it later on his terms , that has been the fury way .

Or the difference this time might just be , losing to usyk twice has taken something out of him psychologically and he can’t be fucked anymore.

From a British point of view it's definitely a shame that Usyk killed the prospect of a Fury-Joshua fight and in essence ended both of their careers. That fight would have been up there with the Benn-Eubank fights in terms of being the biggest in British history.

Not that I have anything against Usyk he's a great technician won all 4 fights fair and square, it's just that the lustre of a Fury-Joshua fight lost it's appeal once he beat Joshua the first time around.

I guess the counter argument is that they could have already fought but iirc COVID scuppered the fight - it was in the process of being made in the spring of 2020.

I agree. How it's still being talked about as a potential fight in 2025 is everything that is wrong with boxing until the Saudi's came along, and yes, they waited so long that Usyk just came and schooled them all.

Yep, I think so in regards to Itauma. He looks after Dubois, and Parker is always ready to get in with anybody. It could also be the only chance that we might get to see it happen in our lifetimes too, so I feel like Frank will try and push it along, and I think the era of protecting zeros is coming to an end finally, and Itauma will learn a lot more getting in with guys like Parker and Dubois then he will fighting more journeymen. He can do that if he loses.

Despite not being the best boxer in his family he still had a magnificent career.

If he has a serious fight who knows ?

If he has a ‘don’t knock out Jake Paul or you won’t get paid’ fight then he’s no chance

hard to imagine it going super well , when Fury and AJ beat him , people defending him said but Klitschko was well past his best

    that was 10 years ago.

If it helps, they might now be well past their best as well. And both brothers have PhDs in sports science so he might have managed to keep himself in reasonable condition.

Yeah, come to think of it I suspect you’re right.

The Klitschkos are smart cookies, hopefully someone talks him out of it

I thought he was at the front lines with a mortar taking on the Ruskies. Or was that his brother?

I see it differently, they were too young and hungry for him 10 years ago and now they aren’t the top of the pecking order anymore because they have aged as well , just shows how long ago his best was

Maybe a fury Klitschko rematch would generate some interest and make them a lot of money but I’d be keeping him away from the next generation of younger big hitting hungry heavyweights.

while andy lee is the reason behind the tactical improvement , george is the big reason behind the physical transformation in Joe , funny how he says when he first started working with him , he thought he was joking how weak he was in the gym .

Sounds just like Tony Robbins !

Good on him, obviously a massive factor behind JPs transformation.
