There's a reason why AJs team have avoided punchers for the majority of his career.

Dubois hits hard and AJ doesn't like getting hit. I said this on another forum and got funny looks.

    This result is no surprise.

My only concern for Daniel was the amount of shots he himself gets hit with himself ,particularly right hands ,

I guess it always had the feel of a gunfight , the first guy to get hit hard might struggle to recover from there on .

Yup Dubois did the right thing going at him straight from the get go. Didn't allow AJ to have any time to ease himself into the fight.

Yeah His jab is underrated and I think aj was a bit taken by surprise by the speed and power of it , aj was immediately on the back peddle and didn’t allow him to plant his front foot where he himself becomes dangerous

Thinks Dubois got written off a bit after losing to Joyce despite landing a series of bombs but took a knee and people deemed him a quitter after that, Usyk too.

Dubois has always had a solid jab too. Don't know where AJ goes from here.

I thought it was poor form how AJ was treated as the A side in this where DD was the champ and should have come out last to the fanfare etc.
AJ is great when he is the aggressor - he doesn't like the fight taken to him, as far as his future as a fighter.... Wilder fight which didn't make sense yesterday now could....and if Usyk beats Fury in the rematch that fight becomes possible.
No way Eddie Hearn puts AJ in with ZZ, Bakole or slick boxers Kabayel or JP

Dubois certainly gets a lot into that overhand right. Loads of power there

    Well done DD

In fairness, AJ took some solid punches and was seconds away from possibly finishing DD

Closed the distance too quickly and should have peppered him from the outside for a little longer

Reminded me of Arlovski’s mistake in his rematch with Sylvia

Hell yeah great contrast in styles
The power and relentlessness of Beterbiev v the skill and ring IQ of Bivol
Im cheering for Bivol because I like his style but just can't wait to watch as a fan

Bivol fights at one pace, but fuck he's good defensively. I'd love for Beterbiev to get up, but I think Bivol's discipline with his defense will get him the UD here. Hope I'm wrong.

    It’s a classic contest ,

Fighter v boxer and both great , you could make a case for either one, I actually like both of them and don’t mind who wins, just going to enjoy it as a neutral.

What did we make of the fight ?

My initial thoughts straight after the fight without scoring it round by round , thought that bivol may have done enough from banking early rounds even though bieterbiev finished the stronger, that or a draw,, but it was tight . But I need to watch it again.

A classic chess match with two classy fighters,

    Great card as well

I thought Bivol but would have understood a draw
One judge was def on crack scored so wide
Elite high level boxing brilliant to watch as both guys could not afford to switch off at any second...Bivol especially due to the obvious power of Beterbiev, but he also couldn't as Bivol could bank points.
Have to run it back - with Saudi $ but in a better more deserving stadium with fitting atmosphere for such a generational match up

    Anyone watching Netflix ?

Lennox Lewis sounding sharp as a tack when interviewed.

    Evander Holyfield much less so.

Jeepers I hope Tyson knocks Paul out but I’m sure the gloves/ref won’t let it happen

@MN5 I'm prepared for it to be a collosal let down where iron mike mucks around and doesn't try to KO Paul. I don't know how he doesn't kill this guy in real life

As a boxing fan I’m against this fight , just don’t think a legend of the sport should be getting back in the ring and risking his health at 58 years old .

At the same time I hope mike knocks him the fuck out .🤣

But I fear if he doesn’t achieve that early he tires , Paul is nothing special but credit where it’s due he can actually bang a bit , that’s my concern a very tired mike gets knocked out .

The Taylor serrano fight is a real contest though , the first was the best female fight I’ve seen , should be good .

Mike looks every year of his 58. This isn't a boxing match.
