Just saw this pop up on the sports news and had forgetten that Mikhailovich was lined up to fight Alimkhanuly for the IBF and WBO middleweight titles next month in Las Vegas.
I've bene following him for some time now. Tough lad but this will be a big step up from those he has been in the ring with before. Both unbeaten..
Gee what a let down for the lad.

Alimkhanuly should be stripped for not being able to make weight and move up to 168.
Mikhailovich should fight for a vacant title next.

Dubois knocks out AJ in the 5th ,
Aj dropped in the first with a good right hand , got to his feet and potentially saved by the bell and probably never recovered ,
Great fight , good card ,
That’s why we love the heavyweights, anything can happen on the night

There's a reason why AJs team have avoided punchers for the majority of his career.
Dubois hits hard and AJ doesn't like getting hit. I said this on another forum and got funny looks.
This result is no surprise.

My only concern for Daniel was the amount of shots he himself gets hit with himself ,particularly right hands ,
I guess it always had the feel of a gunfight , the first guy to get hit hard might struggle to recover from there on .

Yup Dubois did the right thing going at him straight from the get go. Didn't allow AJ to have any time to ease himself into the fight.

Yeah His jab is underrated and I think aj was a bit taken by surprise by the speed and power of it , aj was immediately on the back peddle and didn’t allow him to plant his front foot where he himself becomes dangerous

Thinks Dubois got written off a bit after losing to Joyce despite landing a series of bombs but took a knee and people deemed him a quitter after that, Usyk too.
Dubois has always had a solid jab too. Don't know where AJ goes from here.
-
I thought it was poor form how AJ was treated as the A side in this where DD was the champ and should have come out last to the fanfare etc.
AJ is great when he is the aggressor - he doesn't like the fight taken to him, as far as his future as a fighter.... Wilder fight which didn't make sense yesterday now could....and if Usyk beats Fury in the rematch that fight becomes possible.
No way Eddie Hearn puts AJ in with ZZ, Bakole or slick boxers Kabayel or JP -
Some good shots landed when you watch the highlights

Dubois certainly gets a lot into that overhand right. Loads of power there
-
Well done DD
In fairness, AJ took some solid punches and was seconds away from possibly finishing DD
Closed the distance too quickly and should have peppered him from the outside for a little longer
Reminded me of Arlovski’s mistake in his rematch with Sylvia

pretty excited for this fight

Bivol fights at one pace, but fuck he's good defensively. I'd love for Beterbiev to get up, but I think Bivol's discipline with his defense will get him the UD here. Hope I'm wrong.

It’s a classic contest ,
Fighter v boxer and both great , you could make a case for either one, I actually like both of them and don’t mind who wins, just going to enjoy it as a neutral.

What did we make of the fight ?
My initial thoughts straight after the fight without scoring it round by round , thought that bivol may have done enough from banking early rounds even though bieterbiev finished the stronger, that or a draw,, but it was tight . But I need to watch it again.
A classic chess match with two classy fighters,
Great card as well
