England v Australia

If this was Sonny Bill he'd have been crucified in the middle of London. i dont know how many times I heard the NH coms say SBW has the shoulder charge in his game on the lions tour. Well guess fucking what, so does Farrell.
Peyper is a disgrace.

I'll give him credit for the sledge though. Its clever. It's not abusive or personal (doesn't "cross the loine"). It's not crude. It hurts.
British Lion's player to Colin Meads after an AB scrum had been demolished: "How's that for scrummaging, you f*ucker"
Meads: "F*cking impressive. When you pull your head out of your arse, you'll see we've just scored"

Just saw that Farrell charge. it's at the start of teh Stuff article below (probably region locked).
I have no idea how that was not a penalty try. He is a very very lucky boy -- the downside is that the controversy could rear it's head at the RWC next year, and he may find some time on the sidelines. Seriously, shaking my head yet again at the lack of consistency in refereeing. No idea how the players cope with random calls from week to week... how the hell do you play to the edge if the edge changes all the time.
Frustrating times as a neutral who thinks Farrell is a pit of a dick.
That is a disgraceful non call for the second time in three matches. If that has been an AB on a Pom the screams to lynch him would be as deafening as the expected silence after this incident
And he got away with one on Foley about 10 mins into the second half
That's three for the Autumn.

Farrell...., well...if that isn’t white privilege I don’t know what is.

Watched the Farrell-Ridda incident several times over. Sure Rodda lead with his shoulder and that’s what got Farrell off the hook. Not the right decision though. Penalty all day long and could well have been a penalty try which would likely have seen a yellow card too. Farrell a lucky boy.

If it’s a penalty then it’s a penalty try. Committed an offense that stopped a try. Simple as that.
As for Rodda leading with the shoulder? Bracing for impact isn’t illegal is it?
Karma (a friend of Aura) says he will get red carded for one during the RWC and lose a knockout game -

what's up with the England home game post-match interviewer chicks always being such baiting fluffybunnies? I hate cross-eyed Hooper, but he reacted pretty nicely to that fucking bitch
That was fucking embarrassing. Hats off to Hooper for a classy response. The bird needs sacking though. Awful, just awful.

As for Rodda leading with the shoulder? Bracing for impact isn’t illegal is it?...Wouldn’t disagree with you. His tackle technique is too close to the line and he is too often leaving himself at the mercy of the officials. Over the years there have been many with borderline tackle tekkers and they seem to get away with it more often than not.

Straight after the ‘tackle’ an England player dived on Rodda on the ground anyway. Another penalty
Yeah, Moon came in from the side. Then we were offside and got penalised.

Anybody got a link to that?
Just watched the full post-match interview with Cheika & Hooper - and while some of the questions were obvious baiting/bullshit... Cheika was still spectacularly true-to-type. "Yeah, well, we deserved to lose, but.... cue 15 minutes of whinging about ref calls - including some callbacks to June for fuck's sake."
Some of his points were valid - sure... but valid in a way that you discuss with another punter in a pub, not in the way that a professional international coach should be discussing in an official press conference.
He did seem to allude to some sheila asking something in the on-field interview... but was fairly low-key in the reference, so if that incident was as unclassy as you fellas are suggesting - at least he managed to deal with that well. -
@kruse Dunno about a link, I saw it on my recording of the match. She baited Hooper about the Farrell tackle, asking if he felt it should have been a penalty try and he deadpanned it saying it was a good tough game and the she tried to bait him on it a couple more times. He coped pretty well seeing as he’d just come off from losing a test match. She was just a bitch.
-
Rodda barely dropped his shoulder so that was a extra layer of bullshit from the ref.
Hooper did really well in the interview and even managed to avoid any facials in responding. Didn't even go 'fuck, what a bitch' on the walk back to the team. When they kept the camera on him! hmm wonder how orchestrated that was

Krusty's been summoned to Aussie Rugby HQ on December 10th.
Can't be many people who more deserve to hear the words "You're fired."

WTF? Is that an actual excuse being trotted out? Some one needs to point me to where in the laws that excuses a no arms tackle (called a shoulder charge when SBW does it). There's no way that should have got Farrell 'off the hook".
-
@sparky yeah but who is going to take them on and do any better? Isn't the normal deal with a poison chalice that you don't actually know it poisoned ahead of time!!?
I certainly don't think he's made the most of his cattle, and that recent f-up in dropping Adam Two-Dads and Beale is another of many managerial blights on his record. But I'm unsure if any other Australia home-grown contender would have done any better.
Reckon they should just give Larkham the reins and see what happens. Poor bastard, as I quite like him.

Cheers - just watched the link @booboo posted... it was a weird one.
She was obviously doing what every interviewer does nowadays - and he was obviously trying to avoid the entire question/issue... probably because he couldn't/shouldn't answer honestly? He should probably be giving Cheika some lessons on that.
I didn't think she was that much of a bitch, especially compared to every reporter (albeit - I consider journalists/media as absolute scum of the earth), other than the "is that sarcasm", and even that - pretty much just pointing out that he had completely avoided the question posed... and probably the most honest question I've ever heard asked in a post-match interview. With that in mind - agreed, shouldn't be pushing for that kind of shit in the on-field questions.
Not too sure if I can flip-flop any more on that, but I'll have a night's rest, and see if I can have a go.
