So the game against Argentina is 2 weeks after the super rugby final.... why can’t the players in the final play this match? 2 weeks........
Do you want our players to be at their peak in October? They need these mini breaks for that to happen.

@number9 Cos the AB selectors know more about selecting than you, I guess. He's been good, and has long term upsides. They're developing like they did Ardie, apprentice etc. he turned out alright in the end.
I hope one of those extended number of lose forwards stands up and grips the 6 position, cos there are tons of almost players there. It will be worse if none do cos then we may have an undercooked Squire pulled in. ALso I really hope SBW either totally owns it or totally stuffs up. As with 6, midfield is a mess and really needs time together - IMO ABs tests are not he place to bring a player up to speed. And SBW is well off pace, and Crotty out for entire RC - a mess.
Just what we need at a RWC, midfield conundrums - goes really well that.
That has got to the most piss weak arguement for a selection that I have ever read. Aumua has had a terrible season, Ardie was brilliant from the get go. No comparison it is like comparing a jet engine to your Morris Minor.
Not sure Ardie and Asafo were/are competing for the same position
Ardie is too tall to play hooker.

@broughie
Luke Jacobson is bigger than Blake Gibson. I support Bones concerning Jacobson's abrasiveness. He hits hard in the tackle and is not a penalty magnet. He is also very quick for a loose forward that is why he can also play on the open side. -

Aumua is a very surprising selection. Sure he may have promise but he has had a bad case of 2nd season blues. He’s been pretty poor overall this season.
Other than that not too many surprises and I do like most of the additions.
Aumua is a flashy player but can't throw straight
He was awful in the Jagaures games with his darts
Aumua is not sniffing the RWC squad unless Coles, Coltman & Harris get injured Until his throwing improves he'll remain a Mitre 10 star player
But nobody outside of NZ cares about Mitre 10
-
Fair pont about goal kicking Jordie did it regularly for Canterbury AFAIK
Havilli plays for a better SR team & has played better this year than Jordie
But I'm not taking Havilli over Jordie B full stop
Havilli is next on line for the 2023 RWC cycle starting in 2020
He can wait in line along Laumape

He played some other teams too this year apart from Argentina. Argentina is hardly the litmus test of a good or bad game

I see we have a Phil Kearns clone on this forum
Jaguares were the 2nd best team the Hurricanes played this year and the Canes got dusted up
Playing average sides and looking good don't mean shit in Super Rugby
I'll make it simple for you.......
Jaguares are club side playing Super Rugby
Argentina is a country in South America who have an International rugby side called Los Pumas
If you require any more explanations, I'd be happy to help you

I can see the theory in picking Aumua.
If they can iron out his creases his upside is huge. Far bigger upside than Harris or Coltman.
They believe he has matured a lot since he showed up overweight to Super Rugby last year so they prob think he is in a good spot to develop.
If it doesn't work you can always go back to Nathan Harris if needed.
-
Fair enough but Aumua not making RWC squad unless there are multiple injuries to hookers
He's likely to be on wok experience, carrying water and holding tackle bags
-
@Jaguares4real Yeah he's still bloody young (just turned 22).

Hansen re Akira:
It’s the same problem he’s always had, came into the season not fit enough. He played every game for the blues and at the same time was trying to get fit so he’s a tired athlete. We didn’t see the best of him during super rugby.
We know what’s under the surface, we just need him to take ownership. You can lead a horse to water but can’t make it drink.
Spot on, I am afraid. I was hoping after the NPC that Akira had learned the errors of his ways but his fitness and attitude were disappointing in Super Rugby this year. Could be fantastic, but could be isn't good enough.

@Canes4life said in 2019 Rugby Championship:
@cgrant With Aumua the All Blacks probably see an opportunity to unleash a beast, whereas Harris has probably reached his ceiling in terms of potential.
Actually I'm pleased to see Aumua there. It is obvious that Taylor, Coles and Coltman are the top three. Harris is a safe, but dull back up. Aumua has lots of potential. The All Blacks coaches are backing themselves to improve him. Probably see him as more coachable than Akira Ioane. I thought Aumua played well in the last few rounds of Super Rugby. Certainly fitter.

@KiwiMurph said in 2019 Rugby Championship:
Luckiest back is Jordie. At least SBW has some runs on the board for the ABs unlike Jordie.
Clearly you missed those four tries that Jordie scored on his last outing with the ABs.............
-
@Canerbry said in 2019 Rugby Championship:
SBW in and Havili not is a miscarriage of justice.
Pure sponsorship/politics/manure, and it should forever shut you fucks up moaning about players getting in just because they're red & black.
I would have loved to see Will Jordan in the ABs squad as I think he has the acceleration carrying the ball in two hands to trouble even organised test defences but he got injured at the wrong time. Havili is okay, but wouldn't have picked him ahead of any of the other back three players in the AB squad.

So how does that drop kick Aumua make the ABs when he has played like shit all season.
Nah, Aumua's done well in the last few rounds.
He didn't even get off the bench in the SF.
