Ireland vs All Blacks (2018)

Ian Foster's attack plans not good enough against the modern, super organised, super committed defences.
Our attack is fine. We had the opportunities to score points, we just didn't get over the line. That is on the players not the coaches.

We started to look good, in the 78th minute.
Retallick argghhhhhhh. We had players out wide too.
Well done Ireland.
Not too concerned. It all has a familiar feel to 2014 to me.
We started to look good in the 50th minute but fucked it up with our continuous kicking. Had we been more patient, we would have scored.

@rotated this was about physical contact rugby. Cane would have made a huge difference. Ardie is a different player and to me just doesn’t have that impact.
The tactics this year of kicking have let us down. We are not working on passing and running. When we need to the skills are not there.
Great Irish performance. Clinical.

We were pretty dreadful in that game. What has happened to our ability to penetrate and score tries?
It was our inability to go forward, silly mistakes that cost us momentum, made everyone look bad. Only Ardie and S Barrett can hold their heads up high

Wow.
Ireland clearly betterer today.
Tactics odd.
50-65min mark we were coming, then stopped. Maybe should've pushed for the corner instead of taking the penalty.
Retallick - that wasn't one of his best was it?
Read - is he cooked?
Whitelock
I think Perenara should've started - hes in better form than A.Smith.
We need something different in midfield - we're not making any metres there (even when SBW plays) -
We need to seriously consider Mo'unga now. Teams have worked out Barrett. Can Barrett adapt?

In a weird way I’m glad we lost , these narrow out of jail wins put band aids on our weaknesses
Does it? You must know something the rest of us don’t.

Graeme Henry himself said nothing brings you back down to earth like a loss

Yeah, we did start to open it up but lacked composure when it mattered. Disappointing as we have generally been very clinical in that regard in previous seasons.

@taniwharugby yep, nailed it that time. We were pretty average weren’t we? Apart from line outs it’s hard to see any area where we had an edge.

@canefan theres a real possibility of that isn't there?
I'd be surprised. But then I've not kept an eye on his form. I won't jump to conclusions about individual players because we were collectively poor tonight. Ireland deserved their first ever home victory
