@canefan I guess we all knew but were hoping he would deal with it earlier.
Easy to say as bystander rather than person suffering, I do appreciate that.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink I guess. Better late than never
Terrible analogy to use in this case....
Yeah, I did think that on typing. No pun intended this time

According to an unnamed source, the All Blacks will be best served with a 10, 12, 13 combination of Mo’unga, Crotty and Goodhue to gain advantage over the home team.
So no Charlie Ngatai then?
(I'll get my coat)
Too injury prone.
(Mine is the black one on the hook)

Gallagher was my favourite AB at that time. Was absolutely crushed when he went to league. A deadset legend in black.

Is that the guy that NZ poached from England/Ireland.........?

I'll think you'll find, as he says repeatedly, that there was no future for him in NH rugby and he would bever have been selected, so he self poached himself to play club rugby in NZ.
Peter Winterbottom also played a lot of club rugby in NZ, I wonder if he ever thought about turning out for the good guys. He was always one of my favourites because he gave me my best forward certificate as an 8 year old.

No the Irish poached him off us.

He signed for league about a week before Matthew Ridge if I recall correctly, luckily Ridge didn't know and I say this cos theres no way I'd want a cock like that in the black jersey, give me slow and steady Colt Crowley any day of the week.

Really? - like a lot of the SR players then. Funny how the world turns - didn’t know that.

Aaaargh, if we follow that selection policy we'll start resembling Australia results wise. Some of our best players have been utter pricks (even some with 'good' public personas).

Kipper was in the cops and made it from Wellington club rugby all the way to the top, unheard of today. He and John Schuster were deadly together

Yeah I know but Ridge wasn't even that good and seems to have an extra dose of cuntiness

Wasn't even that good is still shit loads better than Crowley. Ridge wasn't lighting quick either but his anticipation and timing was great - remember he learnt his cuntiness from guys like Fitzy.

Yeah I was being sarcastic to be fair. Luckily guys like Timu, Osborne, Cullen, McDonald, Muliaina, Dagg and Smith came along and obliterated any memories of him.

He played for Ireland a in 1996 after an extensive test career in New Zealand
Bit of an own goal there mate.

@mn5 It was a pity we didn't move Timu earlier.
On Ridge. I remember being on a camping holiday and in the days before smartphones being desperate for something to read on a rainy day, my exes uncles had Ridges book and it was reasonably good, he certainly said what he thought. I do recall one chapter where he supposedly sledged Brad Thorn ( I find that hard to believe ) about wanting to become an AB. Given what the latter ended up achieving in Union I would find it extremely funny being a fly on the wall if they ever ended up in the same room together.

Yeah, that was always funny, but at the time made sense I reckon - who would have thought he'd become a legend in rugby (enough of this Union rubbish, we're not Australian ) and TBF he was a bit of a failure on his first go round.
I think TBF that Ridge which take any shit he got or it on the chin.
