@Bones I’m just saying when teams start to lose their top line wingers atm it seems like the underbelly of quality depth isn’t there to choose from like it used to be. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like New Zealand used to have so much more talent to pick from when they were going through an injury crisis. Now teams are forced to call on dinosaurs as injury replacements I.e the Saders. If we keep losing players that are bumbling under the surface of international rugby so to speak we are going to be left with a bunch of ‘really good’ players and then ‘really poor’ players backing them up.

@SouthernMann yes -

@SouthernMann Yep and after midday.

@Bones agreed, probably could have demanded a lot more in a year's time with the way he's playing but good on him. Take the money and run while he's still healthy even though I'd love him to stay at the Canes. A good chance for Bailyn Sullivan to cement a right wing spot next year if he stays around.

Fergus Burke off to London. Is it a worry that players are leaving so early in their careers now?
-
@Canes4life obviously a lot of unease with the new coaching group.

Also the fact he'll get paid a shit ton more with the most successful team in EU and also be pretty much straight into Scotland squad
Doubt it. Poaching NZers is SOOOOO 90s.
The Scots prefer Saffas and Tongans these days
-
Who can blame him? He'll get double the money and a much higher chance to play international Rugby.
NZR insisting on only playing NZ-based players in the All Blacks is a gigantic and unfair restraint on players' earnings. South Africa are World Champions in Rugby and Argentina World Champions in Football, despite (or perhaps partially because of) having players from leagues all around the world.

@sparky I don't blame him at all. It leaves the Crusaders with a flush of green first fives to pick from next year. Experienced overseas 10 will be in hot demand during the off season.
There must be some crap welsh player at the tail end of their career who can be lured to super rugby. What’s not to like about Rhys Patchell?
