@Chris Arggghhhhh, don't mention Philpott to a Magpies supporter on the Fern. That name is still giving us nightmares! And Philpott is also the one who left McClutchie out of the NZU20 squad for the JWC this year!

Squad so far for 2020: If we can get both Barretts, Walker-Leawere and a couple solid props signed up in addition to the below, we could be looking pretty solid next year with very little impact from the post WC exodus.

@mikey07 May & Eves need to follow Toomaga Allen out the door. We need some experience though so Toby Smith has to be re-signed IMO, also isn't as old as I thought he was. Only 30.

So Scrafton has signed for the Canes according to JK on the Breakdown. Good to see we are signing bigger guys for next year - just need to re-sign IWL.

@Machpants From what I've seen against the Canes and last week against the Chiefs he looked solid. I think he was probably one of the best for the Blues last week so they will be annoyed at seeing him go. Good to see we are looking outside our catchment area, now we just need to get a couple more experienced props and we will have a good foundation for next year.

Dane Coles and Gareth Evans both playing club rugby in Wellington this week.

@Canes4life Great news, although I must admit that it's a bit disappointing that Evans plays club rugby in Wellington instead of Havelock North.

They are probably lining him up for the South Africa trip so he will have to be in Wellington so he can fly out with the Canes on Sunday.
