@Stargazer oh right got yah. It would be good to have more of an update on some of these players, something the Canes are poor at doing.

Speaking of Premier Reserve yesterday I watched a 2019 NZ Under 20s player starting for his club in that grade and he also had the well perfromed Fa'atonu Fili directing things from first five after half time. Needless to say but it did make things a trifle difficult for their opponents.

@Higgins who was the under 20 player? Was it one of the Thompson brothers?

@Canes4life The Thompson brothers aren't in NZU20s yet. Too young, probably. Tyrone started for MSP Prems, yesterday. Leo wasn't in the Prems line-up, so he may have played for the Prem Reserves. @Higgins, do you know more?

Neither of the Thompsons played Prem Reserve yeaterday but Naitoa Ah Khoi certainly did. Incidentally former Warrior Charlie Gubb started as blindside for MSP.

@Canes4life Marvan Karawana also started for the Wainuiomata Prem Reserves, something that Nepia (and a few others) will appreciate.

It will be interesting to see if all our All Blacks are rested for the Sunwolves trip. I can imagine guys like Ardie, Beaudy, Jordie, TJ, Fifita and Laumape will be left home and guys like Rayasi, Umaga Jensen etc will get the chance to finally make a statement and Evans/Marshall/Coles will provide the leadership needed. Whether they all get rested at once will be something the coaches discuss this week.

    @Canes4life

Sunwolves at home can be a bit dangerous. They’re not as easy to beat as before.

Plus, right now we get 22 degree (soon it’ll nearby be 30 degree days) followed by freezing cold rainy ones (like today, it’s 8 degrees right now). Some ridiculously hot day could lead to an (old) Blues like showing.

I’d take a few more experienced guys.

I think there will be great competition to be included in the big away trips as the players surely jealously guard the accumulation of the air points at stake.

@gt12 I'd like to see them give Ardie two weeks though rest, he has had a massive workload so far this year and we have plenty of depth at openside. It will be good to give Kirifi more time in the saddle and Evans some minutes as he returns from injury.

I'd also like to see Aumua start in this one, he hasn't started yet for us and it would be good to see him put in a solid 60 minute shift - same goes for Walker-Leawere. This might also be the game they throw the no 11 jersey to the promising Rayasi.

Giving Ardie a rest seems natural and a good idea, but the canes are a bit shit without him. So, they might need to add some quality around those left behind. I still expect them to win, but I'd be coming here looking for full points.

@gt12 he needs the rest though and we defs have the calibre of players to get full points. Kirifi easily outplayed Pocock in his first start against the Brumbies so I expect him to do the same against the lowly rated Sunwolves.

@mikey07 Yeah he has real potential and deserves a crack after a solid NPC for Auckland.

22 years of age, at 1.96m and 105kg he could be a real weapon in a couple of years time as he matures. He has a big left boot on him aswell.

Looking at the rest of our schedule you would have to say they are all very winnable games (thanks to our tough start) and I expect us to win every one as well. If we do that then we may still have a chance of putting some heat on the Crusaders for the top conference spot as they could also very well go unbeaten for the rest of the season.

    Remaining fixtures (including byes):
    Bye
    vs Sunwolves (away)
    vs Chiefs (home)
    vs Rebels (home)
    vs Blues (away)
    vs Jaguares (home)
    Bye
    vs Sharks (away)
    vs Lions (away)
    vs Blues (home)

@Canes4life you have to play the Blues twice yet. They could be your bogeyman

@Crucial I'm confident we will beat them twice with the players we have still yet to come back in.

I hate to break it to you, but Collins, Cullen, So'oialo and Snakey aren't coming back.
