They said they expect him back in with the AB contingent the other day. Was in linked report from practice game against Blues

So, what will be the Chiefs' XXIII for the early rounds?
- Ross
- Harris
- Laulala
- Retallick
- Ardron
- Jacobson
- Boshier
- Seu
- TTT
- McKenzie
- Alaimalo
- Lienert Brown
- Manu
- Wainui
- Stevenson
- Hames
- Taukei'aho
- Ta'avao
- Allardice
- Brown
- Weber
- Debreczeni
- Nanai-Seturo
Should be a very good tight five, but loose forwards lack depth and class without Cane. Not much depth in midfield either.
Will Ardron get much time at 8?

I don't hate him, and I'll bet he gets plenty of game time, but I think he's a better midfielder, and seems pretty slow for a winger. Other teams have players like Rayasi fighting for a bench spot (at least, at the start) while we have him pencilled in our first choice winger...
-
I don't think he's a very successful super level starter. He's done that job when called upon after injuries and hasn't stunk up the joint, but he's not the future and IMO he'd be the worst starting winger in the country, if that's what happens.
I'll be happy if he plays fantastically - I'm a Chiefs fan.
However, I think we should have recruited better.

Other teams have Michael Collins as an incumbent starting outside back.....

@gt12 Yeah recriuted better especially for first five. DMac is not going to play every game in 2019 and With Falcon's wings clipped so to speak who else is there? I really don't want that Aus Debrathingy starting......:face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat:

@ShadowTrooper Jack Debreczeni is NZ eligible. Might actually do okay in a good environment.

What about Atu Moli ? Is he fit again ?
It really does pay to read some of the stuff posted in the thread....
The Chiefs have received good news about other injured players, and will welcome back All Blacks prop Atu Moli and loose forward Mitch Brown. Brown ruptured his ACL in the early stages of last season, while Moli had complications with a quad haematoma he suffered in last year’s season opener.
“I don’t want to curse them, but we’re really positive about having those players available this season,” Matson said.
“They’re key contributors and key to our success so we’re all excited to have them back in. They look like they’ve been training hard so next Monday they’ll join the flock and take the lead in some areas.
