Waratahs v Blues

@snowy this is the Blues, they are playing shite and should get spanked....
Tana isn't completely bad at management. His "expectation management" is superb - keep losing and the fans expect nothing.
The Blues are also more consistent they they have ever been previously...I shouldn't need to explain that.
-
@snowy mate, I support Northland, I am always looking for a silver lining, somewhere, any glimmer of hope, any spark, ANYTHING.

I'm really just hoping to win a half (or even a few minutes).
How about the 2nd half for a change?
The Blues have often led at HT, particularly in the NZ derbies, and found a way to lose the match.
-
So a lot of close losses in Sydney, but losses nonetheless since 2003.

That would be different. I did mention that they are developing some consistency so a second half win seems unlikely.
I almost bought into this:

Weirdly, I have a good feeling about this game.
Then you ruined it by pointing out that we haven't won in SYD for over a decade.
-
@snowy history means nothing to this Blues team!

Sadly that is true. I am old enough to remember when they were quite good.
-
@kiwimurph Didn't notice that 2017 was missing. There is hope!
Well not really, we are worse this year than last. -
@kiwimurph said in Waratahs v Blues:
@nzzp Blues won v Tahs in Sydney 40-33 last year.
That's the one I was thinking of! That was a huge result for us ... hopefully we can do the same thing again.
Also, I LOOOOOOVE this conference system. PLaying the Tahs away two years in a row. Mmmm yeah baby.

NRL officials asked for an investigation into the surface at Brookvale aka Knee Surgeon's Paradise.
Hooper will play a good game as its in his home territory but the rest of them will wonder what kind of poorly-lit, 70s horror film they just walked into.
It really is a shit hole.
If Rieko Ioane gets a serious knee injury as a result of the pitch I swear to fucking God....
-
Good too see with reputations on the line that reporters are questioning the religious beliefs of the opposition.
"Keep your eyes on the ball" is a key tenet in rugby. "Keep your writing to the game itself" should be one for rugby journalists.
-
So what’s in store tonight?
-
I like this shade of Blue jersey. Started positive
-
Excited to see how Clarke goes. Kind of. It's the blues.
-
Yes! Fuck the Tahs are terrible
-
Bit of the confidence building for the Blues playing someone shittier than themselves.
Folau shows why he can't be centre.
-
Nice turnover from Clarke there.
-
Pulu is shit. Shouldn't be there eh.
Nice to see more than one blue looking hungry!

Was a nice kick, but has already showed his delay at the ruck.

I liked his dummy and snipe though - keeps fringe defenders honest
-
Why doesn't every team the Folau plays for just spend all night kicking to him? He's immense in the air
-
Awesome hands from Clarke, no right to catch that. Nice to see a young guy looking so sharp.
-
I no longer understand high ball contests. Tha thit his chest, but he got pinged.
-
That's a new one Jaco. Jumping beyond the ball? Never heard of it. Especially when it clearly hits the player in the face.

Did you hear the coms? Only had eyes for Folau. Wtf? He was checking to see where he was then contested.
Hold the phone. Another wtf.
-
Jesus that was unlucky. Great pass from Pulu.
-
I would love it if they ruled all tackles like that.
FFS.
Jaco.
FFS.

Not held? FFS.

That wasn't very smart from Ioane...
