Wessells blaming the travel but the Rebels had similar second half capitulations against both the Canes (when the Rebels played the week before at home) and the Tahs (when the Rebels played at home the week before and the Tahs had to travel from Argie).

Watching at the ground Rebels were really poor - especially after Genia went off - they looked like a club side - just not in the same league as the Crusaders. Not a great look for Super Rugby at all.

This. He makes huge difference to that side.

As soon as he left the field, I said to Mrs gt12, at least I'll get one of my tips correct this week.

Oh, I thought he arrived in 2016, did he arrive before that?

At any rate, personally, I don't think he should be playing for us no matter how good he is anyway ....

Also re: Wessels, I know we're happily shooting the messenger because of when the message arrived, but the Super Rugby draw can be messed up sometimes, and I think supporters of every team have felt that at some stage of the competition.

It's like with the league, the Warriors got shafted last week with the draw - they may have got hammered anyway, but, the draw could have been improved to make things easier for them.

@nepia I saved the text of one of Mataele's instagram posts exactly to have this info. He arrived in NZ on 22 February 2015.

What's funny is that I was doing my calculation until 2017 anyway ... I lost a year.

There's no doubt that at some points during the season every team gets a tough turnaround or its byes unevenly spaced, or a series of tough games, but that's a reality of playing a competition across five countries spread around the world.

I don't have too much sympathy for Dave, though, because I'd say the Rebels have probably the easiest draw of any team this year, along with the Brumbies. They're playing in the easiest conference, they get two games against the Sunwolves and six against other Australian opposition and they haven't had to go to Argentina.

He should take a look at the Jags' schedule, or the Sunwolves, or the Blues.

Edit: And the Rebs miss playing the Chiefs and Lions while the Brumbies miss the Blues and the Stormers.

I reckon there's a good chance they've got the easiest draw of anyone! 🙂

Noticed a fair bit of grief going Havilis way. Seems pretty harsh! Thought he was OK and did some good stuff - especially on defence where from a scrum 5m from the crusaders line he was defending at ten and sent first the 8 back where he came from and then the 12.

@bones I agree. I've said it before, he hasn't show much x-factor stuff on attack this year, but he has been pretty solid on defence all season.

@bones I thought Dave went OK apart from the yellow card. There was one high ball that he let bounce, but otherwise he didn't do too much wrong.

That head butt in the face will have given him something to think about, though. 🙂

He had a bit of a shocker last week!

George Bridge is having a very good Super Rugby. He seems to avoid making the silly errors he was prone to. He is the sort of player who can become an AB.

Only problem is that they don't get to play themselves. Those would be easy points.
