Normal service resumes but I reckon they just thought the game was theirs after those two quick tries, expected the wolves to roll over. Disassociation of expectations -

Took them fifty minutes to get over it

Rucks are a free for all - new rules have been forgotten. These boys will have a shock under Pro 14 refs, just like England did

Argh, my 9-16 margin stuffed in the final seconds.

Scrappy game but good to get a win against a pretty tough forward pack.

Thought Romano shored things up when he came on, carried well and got stuck into the collisions

@bones said in Crusaders v Sunwolves:

he probably got an offer (I imagine a decent one) and thought hey I get to live in Japan and get to start every week. Why sit around holding tackle bags?

Little didn’t even get offered a squad position in NZ, then he went to Japan. It was a big surprise given his NPC form that year

@duluth Yep, Blues dev squad was the only offer he got, apparently.

Not a great game from the Crusaders, but that's what you get when you (have to) pick a lot of 2nd and 3rd stringers. Razor took a risk when resting several of his ABs and other players, and he still got the 5 points.

Pity Dagg didn't get the ball. Drummond had a mare. In the end it doesn't matter. The bonus point win is in the bag.

Made hard work of that - weather didn't help, but job done - bonus point win with the additional huge bonus of having been able to give a lot of important players a three week rest - and get rid of some compulsory stand downs, while giving lots of the lesser lights some decent responsibility.

Thought Delany came through with flying colours - had a bit of Midas Touch about him. Owen Franks had an impressive hitout in the scrums. Romano had good impact. Most of the others were a bit mixed - good and bad.

@stargazer Izzy didn't look happy when he came off - hopefully nothing to do with his injury..didn't like the way the SWs were being given a free rein in the tackle?the breakdown?offsides?

@shadowtrooper I thought Izzy was unhappy because they took him off the field! He didn't get the ball much, so he probably felt that he hadn't been able to contribute enough. Really hope it's not his knee playing up!

I saw a lot of high tackles and offsides from the SW that were not spotted/penalised. I'm going to try finding that passage of play at the end of the 1st half that the radio comms were talking about. Apparently something happened at the edge of the screen, which they thought could give rise to a citing. Foul play by one of the SW players. I wouldn't be surprised, considering the way they tackle.

One of the coldest games I’ve been to, amazing that I was swimming in brilliant sunshine earlier today.

Happy with a bonus point win
