Spark Sport

If you want to watch the RWC pool games live you will have to either pay a subscription or take out a new contract with Spark. I just checked my eligibility and it turns out that although I am part way through a contract I’ll need to renew for another 12 months if I want to get free access. Which is a bit hard to stomach given I’m paying them nearly 330 bucks a month.
I’ll see if I can negotiate something and let the Fern know if it works.

That's great business but also disgusting

Jaysus, are you getting escort services laid on as well as broadband?
remember - it only costs 80 bucks for all the games; sounds like you could be better off with an alternative provider and just pay for spark RWC directly.

$60 if you got in on the early bird offer. I'm still waiting for their ATV app so haven't bothered checking it out yet.
I get the impression that the uptake of Spark Sport hasn't been what they expected as they are offering a free subscription for new Spark users. The Com Com should be all over this after Spark's complaints about the Sky-Vodafone merger.

I know I could likely find this on thier website, but when I was looking at the RWC packages last night, it said 'compatible devices' or something...
So does that mean I cant watch on my laptop and stream to my TV via HDMI?
I know it might be way back in this thread people said there are ways the software can restrict iPads, Phones etc from streaming, but is this the same?

You spunk $330 a month on your phone bill yet are quibbling over paying $70 to get all matches live?
Absolutely. It’s the principle of the thing. They can give it away to someone taking out a new contract for $300 a year. They can give it to me and they are in the same position after a month. I’ll make them do it if I can. No question.
BTW it’s not just phone, it’s 2 mobile plans and fibre as well.

@JC you sound like my dad. His reasoning for not taking up the spark offer, "I've paid enough money to them over the years". Wants me to hook him up with a VPN, when I told him he'd have to pay he was hesitant. Must be his Shetland Island blood shining through.
