@rembrandt Hey mate, you can watch it concurrently on two devices. You can also watch it on Ipad. Phone etc. I watched all the All Blacks games with no problems, same time as mother in law. They have all the replays for the northern hemisphere tour too. It really is good value for the money if you can split it with someone. I use google chromecast to put it on the TV no problem.

@canefan have to compare him with TJ and Nisbett. Not sure TJ is better at all.
Hope they get Merhts for expert comments. Or Mexted for comedy value
Those three would be great. Mex's clumsy unintended sexual innuendos wouldn't sit well with the #metoo set though
unintended?

I guess Sumo wants to call AB games, fair enough. Might have to reign his use of nicknames and personal anecdotes with the players.
I like his actual call of the games otherwise.
Agree entirely. Used to enjoy it, but it had a shelf life.
Not really interested in Marty Banks.

I'll give Sumo massive props for his work ethic. He has his fingers in so many things and by no means is a hack. Aside from being the third string commentator for Sky, he did the studio show, pre/post work, edited the Sky Sports magazine, runs the Rugby Pass podcast, puts out a book a year, involved at the Spinoff, jumps on the ACC and seems to do plenty of corporate work. Absolute machine.
That said - don't care too much for his takes or style. He simultaneously tries to play The Rugby Hipster paying homage to anything non-All Blacks and then tries to put across that he is on nickname basis with every current and ex-All Black. He fails on both counts coming across as Rattue II at times and a bit of a sycophant at others.
Looking at his cryptic (or craptic) Twitter posts about Hansen's reappointment last week I hope he gives TVNZ better, more accurate and less biased journalism.
Oh and now that Sumo is gone from Sky can we please, please, please get TJ back hosting the weekly panel show.

If that gets TJ away from the commentator's mic then I'm all for it. However, Sky seems to be using Wilson more as the studio host.

@chimoaus I was thinking of joining this - but my NBN has been down for over 24 hours now, which gives me pause about using a streaming only service. Plus, I get Telstra rewards (cheap movies) with my Foxtel ... I might use the threat of going to Kayo to lower my monthly rate.

Sumo is a superbly talented presenter, commentator, interviewer and writer. The good news here is that he is staying in NZ when a host of overseas media outfits would have gladly signed him up
I dislike his used of nicknames when interviewing All Blacks as if he is one of them. Hope TVNZ and spark insist he calls players by their names.

Sparky how long have you been representing Sumo?
I reckon Craig Cumming has more of a chance parlaying the Dilmah Tea Party into a US late night network talk show than Scotty attracting overseas attention.

Really good article here about the business and complexities of sports streaming.

Good point made about iOS updates likely to coincide with RWC.

For all Aussie based Ferners:
Good, I don't have to fluff around getting something else.

@Stargazer I’m pretty bloody happy with that, Kayo works well and knowing I have access to all the games is great.
Am I the only one having issues with Kayo? As I said on another thread I have not gotten through an evening of rugby without it cutting out.

Seems to work ok for me, occasionally I will get buffering but I'm not sure if thats my internet connection as I'm on wireless NBN. Have you tried different devices, like Computer, Ipad, phone etc?

I've had cut outs on the computer and iPad, but I'm primarily going to use the iPad as I cast to the TV.
I get proper cut outs/re-starts but I don't often have buffering issues. I don't have issues with my other streaming services.

@Nepia I've never had a cut out of any sort. Might be worth sending a message to their support. I use chromecast and it works well. Hope you can get it sorted.
Yeah, I've sent them a message. I'll keep testing it until the end of March and if it doesn't improve I'll go back to Fox.

I get less buffering if I play 15 secs behind live. But yes, for a streaming service there's a lot of buffering. And it's not like my internet is slow.
