So far this year there seems to be no enforcement of the attacking team diving over rucks or taking players out in front of the ruck.

Go to the corner. We’re not good enough to win by threes.

Real inconsistent given that we saw Higginbotham get drilled with a Red Card last night ,he also tried to argue that the player he was tackling was falling down, for a moment there I thought nothing was going to be done,I suspect the call came from the TMO.

@steven-harris Yes, O'Keeffe was only gonna give it a penalty. Lucky not to be a red.

Surely that was a deliberate knock down, and hence a yellow card?

Two advantages for high tackles in the lead up there. Crusaders giving away a lot of penalties in the last 10.

Chiefs will be happy with that considering their start.

Was it a coincidence that the Chiefs looked much better once Bird went off?

@tim I think because the rules will see the immediate poach become rare as, so while illegal it's not impairing anyone... yet. Funny how 2-3 areas get laser focus and the rest are just a free for all.

Nah Higginbotham did a shoulder charge which was worthy of a yellow card and then a high tackle which was worthy of the same. Two yellow cards = red (or that is how I look at it).

Shoulder charge v swinging arm? The only thing that saved him was the refs call on tackled player ducking

I don't think so, they didn't get better until well after he went off.

    Weber’s passing has been good.

Higgers tackled him high and kept a neck roll to pull him to the ground. That's equal to the swinging arm.

I wouldn't have given Higgenbotham a red either - just a yellow and a lengthy ban.

Ngatai is wasted at 15, and it’s Stevenson’s best position, so what is going on? It’s not like we’ve got a good 2nd five anyway.
