All the covers on and the rain is getting heavier. Camped out under an umbrella with hope rather than expectation...

Looks like we're batting. Kane Williamson in for Ross Taylor which is a bit like Richie McCaw stepping in for Josh Kronfeld Michael Jones.

Pretty fucken hard to see anything except a big total and a piss poor effort in chasing it to be honest.

Not to be a wowser - but, this Tui one-handed catch promotion will end in tears.

Kid in Nelson got hit in the head by a deflection.

For $50K someone's going to launch themselves somewhere they shouldn't.

And we didn't already know this?

Fucking black caps! Wake up hungover excited to watch some cricket at the start of recovery and they've gone and ruined it.

@mn5 only since I saw Greatbatch hitting a home run in that last game.

A lovely band of rain sitting over the Bay and Coromandel. Prospects for play tonight look very slim...

I mean why did they pick such a stupid spot for Cricket in summer! Dunedin is the place to be!

Nice to hear the commentary team call the Bay Oval the premier 20/20 ground in NZ at the moment.

Hopefully we will see more and more short format stuff there.

Hopes for play have risen from zero. Still very cloudy but the rain has stopped for now & there’s a strong breeze.

The ground dries very well and the breeze and warmth will help. Took my son to the opening match with the lights and thought it was a wonderful venue. Fingers crossed for us to enjoy it tonite after my luck held for the tennis yesterday.

Still some light drizzle in the Mount... rain radar looks better than the view out the window, but fingers crossed.

Fingers still crossed. Saw Sun break through briefly in Papamoa a while ago and some drying starting. Just hope no more showers.... Forever the optimist.

Awesome start from these two, one of the more dangerous pairs going around.
