I'm hearing Sky Stadium is almost sold out for the Ireland test and likewise for Eden Park. Bit surprising this far out but good all the same.

Good to hear. A fair amount of that might be visiting Irish support.
To be honest, it always surprises me when All Blacks Tests against quality opposition aren't sold out. Who wouldn't want to see one of the greatest sports teams in the world do battle with their foes?

A lot of people with strong Irish ancestry/connections here in NZ.

I'm going to the Irish club before the game, just down the road at Eden Park. I'm not Irish, but my mate is.
Not sure potato jokes will go down well, or the 'call me when you get a semi' ... so any more PC jokes or banter welcomed

Having the 1st test against the Irish at Eden Park is a little different than most tours. I just decided to buy terrace tickets as it was better value for money. Will be at the Māori-Ireland game 4 days earlier too.

Good idea and I think I'll go to this one. Given how many Boks fans have swapped RSA for South London this will almost be an away came against the Old Foe. We will juat have to shout louder than them. Go Black!

They can all walk to the game from Earlsveldt.

Don't love that 6 day turnaround for the last test of the year.
Especially considering the performance of the last two tests in 2021.

All Blacks 2023 Test Schedule:
(pre RWC)
Rugby Championship
vs Argentina, Saturday 8 July, Estadio Malvinas Argentina, MENDOZA
vs South Africa, Saturday 15 July, 7.05PM, Mt Smart Stadium, AUCKLAND
vs Australia, 29 July, location and time TBC (Bledisloe Cup match one)Bledisloe Cup (match two)
vs Australia, Saturday 5 August, 2.35PM, Forsyth Barr Stadium, DUNEDINTest Match
vs South Africa, Friday 25 August, 7.30PM, Twickenham Stadium, LONDON -
We see the effect of not being able to use Eden Park and Wellington RS because of the Women's football WC. Forsyth Barr has their last game only 4 days before the Bledisloe Cup game.
Edit: I'll add that Stadium Waikato is also unavailable.

The womans soccer forcing the game away from Eden Park
The Saffa's hardly ever play at Eden Park. Their last test there was 2013. They've only played there 3 times this century
ABs v Boks at Eden Park -

Should have been Townsville. At least it's a friggen rectangle stadium.

@KiwiMurph Cheers. My oint still stands that the official schedule was released with TBC.
The G is a shit place for a rugby game.

Wellington Regional Stadium – Wellington / Te Whanganui-a-Tara, New ZealandWhen did the Sky Stadium in Wellington get it's name changed?
-
@Higgins I think it's for certain events that they use the stadium's name without the sponsor name. Wellington Regional Stadium is the official name is there isn't a sponsor name attached to it. This isn't the first time (I just can't remember when I've seen it before, but I know I have). I assume it's because FIFA has it's own sponsors for the Women's Football World Cup, but not sure.
-
Yes, all the sponsors names associated with the stadia have been omitted. Gotta make room for the Saudi sponsors.
-
@Stargazer If it is not Sky Stadium then surely it is The Cake Tin!
-
By the way, what's interesting is that the Bledisloe Cup (2) match in Dunedin is an afternoon game!
-

The last afternoon Bledisloe in Dunedin Eddie Jones was Wallaby coach and was the last Wallaby win in NZ - i'm sure the media will get their money's worth out of that storyline.
-
@Stargazer would assume it the same as Rugby WC, clean stadia, including names.
-
@KiwiMurph Ahh, I think Eddie mentioned that in that press conference that I posted in the Aussie Rugby thread, a week ago. I assume he already knew this test would be played in Dunedin.

have to say i was pleasantly surprised with Docklands last year, much better than i thought it would be, MCG has some great stands, even top deck will have a good view due to the steepness of the stands....but the mitch is 20m longer and wider....good angle but even further from the action

They missed an opportunity to list the dates of the QF,SF and F with opponents TBA.

Missed the link to the RWC Winners Jersey issue too.

Amazing (annoying) to not have a Bledisloe here in Sydney for 4 years (minimum, I don't know what the 2024 fixtures will look like)
-
@Stargazer said in All Blacks Test match venues (upcoming fixtures):
Good to have a list of all ABs tests:
Is is quite good to see things laid out like that though.
The big game against France is only a fortnight after the SA game at Twickers so expect that SA game to be a dress rehearsal with the entire France coaching team watching from the stands.
The RC games might be used to test a couple of players but I wouldn't expect to see much that is new.
No excuses for players to be suitably rested before the quarters with 'minnow' games after France. The A team may get a run for half a game (or longer) against Italy. Namibia will be a B team and Uruguay a mixture to keep some match fitness.
Big question is how much powder can be kept dry before the quarter -
Round 1 and 2 of the RC will be interesting as all teams have long-distance travel to contend with between rounds. SA and Aust play in Pretoria in Rd 1.
-
That schedule is really nice. You could conceivably roll the top team out every week if you wanted to right up until Namibia, when the reggies get a run. top side for Italy. Reggies for Uruguay, then top team for the finals. Top side rock hard fit with combinations fizzing.
Of course what they will do is rotate rotate rotate and the top side will get one hit out somewhere.
-
Pretty optimistic there of you to think there is a known top side.
Expect a whole lot of rotation, checking out all sorts of combinations then having to roll the dice with whoever is fit.
-
Good to see and I have tickets to the Twickenham match so pumped for that!
-

i think the problem is the opposite. I think the top 23 is locked in, form be damned
