@akan004 it's that flat attack line that both Boyd and the AB coaches employ though. TJP is good at catching that ball from behind though.
Puts a lot of pressure on the defence.
That pass was bordering on forward though (in fact I think it was). He didn't have to stand so flat on that occasion.

Just watched the post match press conferences. What a contrast; Chieka can't help but come across as an ungracious arsehole every time.

What's happened to Foleys kicking? He was great at the rwc.
Fat goal posts
A few flogs over here on social media saying Foley left 9 points out there from 3 conversions + a penalty.
I've always taken the view that conversions are the only ones that count, because penalties alter the course of the game. Conversions are consequence-free.
Therefore we are a draw at best.

Agreed; anything else is an exercise in hypotheticals.

Shit, close one eh?
Laulala bloody awesome, well done that man.
Rieko / reiko very good.
Aaron Smith good.
SBW absolutely appalling. Imagine if every other player turned the ball over half a dozen times in 60 minutes too, you wouldn't even have a game to watch. At least McKenzie did some positive things to balance his ledger a bit.
Genia was great. We missed kaino and cane on the fringes, and he took advantage. Beale, folau, kuridrani, hooper, McMahon, TPN, Foley all very good. (except the goal kicking of course).
Very lucky to get away with the win. Reffing was fine, debatable ones both ways but communication and process good, and Owens lets the game flow well as always. I was waiting for them to check for a forward pass on the last try, pretty flat. Phew. -
Funny despite the score line and the close finish I feel like the performance was generally good. Some top drawer performances but the soft tries were disappointing. If Dmac was a 9/10 week what does that make Iaone this week? Iaone is so far further on than what we have seen from Savea for 3 years. Laulala was also outstanding, can breathe a lot easier watching that performance. Barrett's kicking spot on, TJ finally provided impact off the bench. DMac still struggling with pace of game but I feel they have to stick with him. SBW was dreadful , and I am wondering if he is relegating himself to impact player off the bench.

Don't think they showed the Wallabies formation on tv when they were facing the haka. I quite like this.
I saw that at the start, it looks like our haka formation, an arrowhead behind the captain

Haven't read the threads sorry if someone else has made the same point but I thought we missed a trick big time when bringing Ofa on. Should have had a couple of cracks with Nepo and Hames.
Hames is a destructive scrummager and we could have demolished them near the line. -
if we had lost that game and it was bloody close , the nz media would be going into overdrive asking what is going wrong ,
-
Think people are being a bit Harsh on Dmac, in the game lots of players were very poor and all over the show, to judge him and finish him on that is harsh.
IMO SBW would be in danger of never playing in black again if we use that game as a benchmark but we know he will unlikely play like that again and the selectors trust thier systems that both Dmac and SBW and the others that were unusually out of sorts will be there next time.
Chieka is fulfilling the clown image our media have painted, really is a fuck wit...as said during the game the cameras need to stop looking at him for his expletive laden trades every 5 mins.

I would pay extra for a "red button" option which showed a little corner-window of video, and even more for audio, of Cheika.

Am I imagining things or did the Wobblies put 45 straight points on us?
-
@Salacious-Crumb yes that's right. Conceding nine tries to a "shit" team will give the coaches something to work on.
-
Also, amazing to see no scrum penalties where there is a really really dominant scrum. Shows the mentality of the ABs - just using a scrum to win possession or get clean ball for the backs. I'd much rather grind out penalties and yellow cards if you can - if you have an advantage, ram it home.

Any team with fast ruck ball, bodies in motion and commitment to running lines will eventually open up sides. Plenty to work on in defence and slowing down ruck ball effectively
