You can't win without the ball.

The Crusaders do get away with players being in "interesting" positions in some drives.

That's fucking bullshit. That should have have been 'any reason I can't give the try'

That doesn't exist any more. Sooooo 2016.

It's onfield decision: try vs no try in ref's opinion.

Fair dinkum? Can they not ask that now?

Fuck Aaron Smith off, bring on the young lad. Smith's own players must be wanting to punch his nose, kick some sense into him. What are all these stupid, pointless kicks that have crept into quite a few top NZ players games this year?

Highlanders are not built to play in these conditions.

On the flip side they get to base their game around knowing all their home games will be played on fast tracks so it is swings and roundabouts.

    @Bones

Exactly. When those were contestable kicks, they had meaning, but right now they are just going to Saders. Plus, the chase is shit too.had they focused on working for territory, I think they'd still be losing, but would have got some points out of that half.

Ian Smith must have been eating a pie at the time because Coltman was being attended to by the medics just prior to being subbed. Maybe it was just a straight swap but it could be injury-related too.

@gt12 yeah everytime we get in the saders half Smith does something cute.

Not even contesting half the kicks to them! How can they hope to contest any they make.

Nisbo is losing the plot. Taufua makes one half decent run and all of a sudden he's having an outstanding game. Then he calls Sopoaga as Mounga.

@Bones Because they play a fast counter attacking game, their strength is their backline, and their pack is a bit small and relies on high workrate.

The Crusaders pack is completely dominant.

    Also, Squire is extraordinarily overrated.

Taminavalu's first contact when he dived on the player on the ground was upper arm to the head. No slipping up, just straight contact.

These yellow card rules as they are currently enforced are too arbitary, too random and the punishment affects the game too much

Saders kickihg better in the wet though.

Good to see Ben Smith joining the idiot kick brigade. That's two at least from him now.

Nah it was fine, first contact was with his hand.
