Jack McGrath must start the third Test, but not merely due to Vunipola's Wellington nightmare
Vunipola conceded four penalties, but that may not be too large a factor in McGrath’s inclusion.
Here's the first three 'chippy resentment' paragraphs:
HE’S HARDLY AVERSE to uproarious curveballs when it comes to team selection, but Warren Gatland would be wise to stick as opposed to twist when it comes to Saturday’s potentially monumental third Test with New Zealand at Eden Park.
Gatland and the Lions arrive at a similar juncture as they did four years ago with the series tied at one apiece, but on this occasion the momentum travels in overhead luggage with the tourists as opposed to the hosts, as both sides ascend New Zealand’s North Island in search of immortality (we presume, by now, you’ve heard it beckons).
Last weekend’s victory dictates that neither the Lions’ starting XV nor matchday squad require a major reshuffle. Gatland is not the head coach who needs to make a ‘statement’ selection call, and so the seemingly inexplicable, unceremonious quelling of a major name remains unlikely ahead of his announcement in the wee hours of Thursday morning Irish time. There will likely be no Sextongate to follow 2013’s Brian O’Driscoll saga, and it’s unlikely Sam Warburton will go the way of fellow Test captain Peter O’Mahony after a solid outing in Wellington. The back three is now settled and reasonably productive, the centres combined with Sexton are a force, and Conor Murray has once more distanced himself from the chasing pack as the world’s finest nine.".???? @junior probably a big reason why they have brought Fekitoa back into the fray. He and ALB have a combination and I quite like ALB defending at 12 and Fekitoa is a genuine centre.
Laumape is an impact option at this stage.
I'm not sure of the answer, but how can we keep Barrett at 1st 5 longer? I know this might set Nepia and Crucial's knight in shining armour alerts off, and it's not meant to be a slight on Cruden, but I prefer Barrett to be at 10 in both attack and defence. Sure he didn't have a great test last weekend, but I felt we lost shape when he shifted.
Hence the ABs wanting Dmac to be a success at 10 , not necessarily him in isolation , but someone to be a 10 utility on the bench , that can come on somewhere else and we only move BB if injured .

In an article about merits of McGrath v Mako when the ref is Poite. He's filled up the first 3 paragraphs with references to previous inexplicable, unceremonious sagas of Irishmen being dropped.
Some of my fellow readers may have given up at that point without my helpful warning, and missed an interesting article.

@antipodean Clive Woodward reckons subbing Smith was the turning point for us in the 2nd test, this along with subbing Kaino off were the bits he felt Hansen & Co got wrong.

He didn't mention that bit , my guess would be dagg moving back to 14 for less disruption , which would be naholo gone I would think .

He's right. Smith's kicking and the way he was getting our under-manned pack around the park was great - especially on a night where Barrett was not going as well as he could.
TJ came on, started throwing bad passes to our forwards, who then got smashed backwards, we lost shape, lost territory and - as noted earlier - he messed up defensively.
