All Blacks v BI Lions Test #2

Fucking french fluffybunny. Perfect example of how to ruin a game of rugby. Im not talking about the SBW red. That is world rugby's fault. They need to sort something out that covers tackles like that but doesn't wreck a game. Reds should be for punches, eye gouges, biting and grabbing ball sacks.
How the fuck did the lions not get a yellow for repeated penalties? How the fuck was the Lions shoulder to BBs face not a red and only yellow? How was the Naholo swinging arm not even picked up? And worst of all what the fuck was the match deciding penalty? That is hands down the worse call ive ever seen. Worse than anything Wayne Barnes ever did.
SBW fuck you. That is the second massive game for the ABs where you have been carded for the shoulder charge. I would imagine he will get a ban too.
BBs kicking was shit. It has finally cost us a game. That last chip kick was as bad as Crudens cross kick moments earlier.
Thought taking Kaino off was a mistake. Naholo or Ioane should have been pulled off. One of the Back row could have defended in the backs on Lions scrums.
Most worrying. What has happened to the ABs defence and attack? The two lions tries were soft as hell and we don't even seem willing to give the ball to the backs, even off set piece and counter attack is non existant. Not the best night for it but it was the same last week.

Jesus golden boy Barrett gets a free ride on here. He was so poor tonight, and kicked away good attacking ball on numerous occassions, none of which came close to working out. Still our best option, and agree Cruden was no better, but you can criticise him you know.
Lions much better than us in contact all night, losing kaino hurt.
I'm bitterly disappointed because I feel that we still should have won that.
I have zero problems with the ref
I don't think Barrett played that badly, but his goal kicking cost us. The ref was terrible, but got it right when he sent off SBW. Vunipola should have got red as well and that could have had a huge impact on the game. The swinging arm on Naholo should have been checked properly. There were more dubious decisions and non-decisions.
Barret was ok. Missed three kicks (with one hitting the post) but nailed 7 for a 70% success rate
Dagg was poorish. As was Cruden. I would prefer Sopoaga on the bench.
SBW was clearly a red card. But agree Vunipola should have got red as well but need to watch again to try and see why it wasn't. but the ref seemed to be keen as hell to give the first red. But not even consider the 2nd one.

What happened was having to play with 14 men for most of the game and players getting tired. I wouldn't be too hard on the ABs for those two tries. They were also brilliant tries by the way; the Lions deserve some credit for that!

We were smart tactically last week, but played narrow again this week with no variation and a lack of second man plays, or just kicked the ball away. No width for the whole game, they could have done more even with 14. Certainly some disruption but you expect more...

With a backs to the wall game approaching , be bloody nice to have coles , bender and crotty back ,

I'm picking Vunipola will be visiting the judiciary as well, and will miss next week

Melodie trying to excuse B Barrett's goal kicking...
She's a shocker and so is Ian Smith.
Barrett was 100% last week and 70% this week. and this weeks conditions were crap

Didn't think Vunipola's clear out was close to a red. Barrett was lying in the tackle area (although admittedly trying to roll) and thus fair game. Vunipola bound with both arms, went off his feet but it's almost impossible not to when clearing out a player lying on the ball. You see a number of clear outs a like that each game - I honestly think it wouldn't even have been yellow were it not for the fact he had just just been penalised for a late charge on the same player.

Tonight my 6 year old daughter stayed up to watch the game - her first night game watching the ABs. Of course, she fucking ruined the occasion and I couldn't concentrate on the game. I was resigned to the loss as soon as the shoulder hit the head.
But it was a fucking weird game - again - every time I looked up the Lions were butchering this gilt edged opportunity. Then, as a humiliating loss loomed they came on hard and rolled on over us. They were fucking desperate tonight and I can't fault them.
Still don't get the final penalty with the Sinckler jump into the tackle.
Did this game have off the charts niggle? The Sky panel seem to be saying that Vunipola was mouthing off after the game (maybe in the tunnel)?

He should be dropped anyway. Worse player on the park today, crazy bad discipline.
The Lions looseheads all seem pretty good, so no dramas promoting McGrath and Marler. The TH side is where the Lions have had concerns on tour.

At last try three Lions impeded AB tacklers, Savea and TJP.
Proud of ABs. Third quarter heroic.
But when Naholo off our makeshift backline was unable to maintain real time defensive sturucture and to their credit Lions had the nous to make us pay for it. And ref seemed to let Lawes do what MI was repeatedly penalised for.
Fairly galling to lose to a jump penalty.
Would have taken the draw.
Glad I paid up for Eden Park tickets for my old man and me!! -
@SimonAdd_2 there was contact to the head so it was worth a look. But the contact was low impact unlike SBWs high impact shoulder. I thought YC was okay for Vunipola given Barrett wasn't impeding ball and rolled to the side rather than to the Lions side which we see plenty of.
