All Blacks v BI Lions Test #2

@MrDenmore disagree. Ref is fine, players are the problem. Both teams continuing to push it at ruck time, garces giving them nothing. Learn a lesson

@Frank You know it's raining, right? Ever tried to catch a slippery ball?
Good grief.
Yes and successfully because I'm not a tardo

Looks way worse on replay. He was coming in legit and the picture changed by the space closing. He should have pulled out but there was no way that was deliberate.
Just about to say swap Rieko for Laumape but Kaino?Seriously Crucial? Does this fucker have to kill someone for you to criticise him?
Thankfully Lions shooting themselves rather well in the foot. Not sure how long it will last.
Dammit.
Just look at the wider shot and imagine if Watson had come free. SBW was doing the right thing to come in and cover but didn't change what he was doing when Watson stayed wrapped up.
I've said it was his fault and that the red was deserved.
Just think allegations of a deliberate shoulder charge are off the mark.Who gives a shit? It was fucking clumsy and stupid and has likely cost NZ the match. I can't believe you're even trying to defend him.
-
On the bright side, SBW probably won't be able to play next week. If Crotty isn't back for that game, that will mean a Laumape-ALB midfield combo. Question is, who do they give the 23 jersey/cover the midfield. Will Rieko get that role, or is Goodhue set to make an early debut?
-
We always knew SBW was the sort of player who could do something like that. We always knew that one moment like that can have a big impact on a game of rugby. Now we have to see how we adapt.
I don't know if getting sucked into a kicking duel is the best idea against this Lions team with 14. I still back our backs to do something. It's just when ever we get down the other end of the field they give away a penalty. I think we are going to need to score some tries at some point. I still back our backs to do it.

9-9 at the break, fuck I'll take that given the circumstances.
That was a really messy half of footy. The ref is obviously lower quality then most but hard to blame him for that. Lions have been pretty underwhelming overall and the ABs have been inaccurate in a lot of what they've tried. Conditions obviously a factor.
SBW is an idiot. Always wrap your arms, rugby 101. Unforgiveable and if he's not banned he deserves to sit out the 3rd test.
Those saying we'll sub Ardie for a back are probably on the money. ABs gameplan has to be to keep it close until the 55-60 minute mark, before unleashing the wrecking balls Crockett and Charlie, with plenty of energy from Ardie and try to storm over the top of them in the final quarter.
That red has certainly made this game interesting...

@Rancid-Schnitzel Me too. Halftime shots FTW.
The strongest thing I have in the fridge is juice. Might look in the laundry.

Yes we're kicking a lot, but our lack of accuracy in tight is meaning we can't keep the ball long enough to create anything.
It's pretty awful to watch

Gut feeling is , we are going to have to manufacture some tries ,
With a man short in the forwards it's hard to not imagine some penalties coming ..... down well so far though
Agree. The Concern is SBW (or threat of SBW) is the fulcrum of most plays from set piece.
Would they even have plays rehearsed without him?

Watching the replay again I think SBW won't be around to muck up the final test.
Will he be on the next flight out?
