Wonderful try Lions. Chiefs should have taken the 3.
Yep. The two pens they've given up has killed them.
Could have been 12 - 20, now it's game over at 6 - 27
Repeated for effect

Was always on the cards.
Can we have the ginge and you have Laidlaw?
You're Welsh. He doesn't feel Welsh.

Lawes is back, AWJ off.
No sub Lawes for Hill. Lawes looks fucked.
Lawes has been impressive. I'd have started him and Kruis on Saturday eith Itoje off tge bench. But I'd have to say two head knocks in two weeks may be enough to earn a plane ride home.
Do wonder if other teams are using same concussion protocols as us given we seem to have much more players sitting out from head knocks

The Scots must be looking seriously at Christie now.
How long he been in NZ?

Yep. That thought had occurred. Was surprised he was back on the field so soon.

I'd assume it was precautionary? The protocols must be the same for all, surely?

That should really be red, late and no arms. Cheap shot.
Agree entirely. Very lucky not to see Red.
And how did Biggar not see yellow?
Weak by the ref
Because it was too high to be counted as high. If your man hadn't have slipped just before Biggar was gonski.

Concussion checks take about 10 mins....even precautionary. You would hope everyone is singing off the same sheet.

Christie's parents emigrated from Scotland to Pukekohe when he was seven and he was schooled at Saint Kentigern College in Auckland, where he caught the eye of the Counties coaches. He represented them at under-19 level in 2014 before moving south to study at the University of Canterbury. It's in Canterbury, playing for the University club, that Christie convinced Ta$man to offer him an NPC contract. He didn't disappoint and featured in ten of their matches in 2016, which included four starts as they reached the Premiership final that ended in defeat to Canterbury. Christie has already attained national sporting honours for New Zealand, but in gymnastics, which he did for nine years.

Meant for the Lions 😀

So 100% of the Chiefs Samoan internationals backed up from the weekend and appeared in the the Chiefs starting lineup.
0% of the Chiefs Maori ABs were in the Chiefs starting lineup.
Is this conclusive proof that Samoans are harder than Maori?*
*Asking on behalf of a Mike Hosking listener.
Am yet to begin exhaustive research into the the percentage of British players who backed up.

Think Lawes is very unlucky. He's timed his fitness and form to perfection, and if he hadn't had the two head knocks I would be starting him with Itoje.

I enjoyed that. Haven't found the Chiefs hugely endearing in the last few months. They're not great lovers of the media, particularly the print brigade. Got towelled right up in this one
He's a bitter Hurricanes hack. I'd wear that as a badge of honour.

Late to comment on this match, but it was a disappointing performance on the back of going to the Maori game. I'm expecting better this Sat night, otherwise it will be a week to forget from my perspective.
The Chiefs did create a few half-chances but either good scrambling defence or poor passing let them down. As others have said Christie was impressive in his first start. Polwart at the other extreme. A dumb selection by Rennie to not start Hika.
After seeing the Lions up close in 2 games now, how the refs officiate the breakdown will have a huge bearing on the result in the tests. They have been getting away with the tackler rolling into the halfback to slow down ruck ball instead of rolling away from the halfback as per the law. Read needs to be in the ear of Peyper at Eden Park.
