Well, I'm glad we had this test to blow out some cobwebs. Samoa have been way better then 28-0, but have been their own worst enemy on attack. ABs had the rub of the green from the ref for sure.

Starting to get some rhythm now, could get ugly in the 2nd 40.

    where's the crowd?

There are four test matches in Auckland this year plus Blues v Lions. If you are going to get out there, why bother going to see Samoa if you can see ABs playing Lions twice or SA?

SBW looks great on attack and shit on defence.

    Score doesnt reflect the game.
    Yep should be 14-7

@dingo Maybe if you missed out on Lions' tickets or could not afford them?

Maybe there is something wrong with 4 out of 7 home AB test matches being in Auckland. Just sayin.

Well, you needed to get lucky to get tickets to the Lions.

I think the double-header idea has failed. Not many wanted to fork out for Wales v Tonga without the best Welsh players, and getting there on time on a Friday night was always a stretch given Eden Parks location, so most just home after work.

@dingo Something to think about for those who want an expensive new stadium in Auckland. England play all their tests at Twickenham, and France almost all at Stade de France.

Looks like some posters got their wish, Julian Savea isn't playing....

You've stolen my halftime joke. Jesus - you couldn't accuse him of Reuben Thorne's workrate! 🙂

ABs looking very rusty in the first 20 minutes. Finding some groove now. Aaron Smith been looking good to me. Ben Smith - as usual. Kaino going pretty well.

SBW with some early errors, then some good stuff.

Probably a good thing we're having this hit out!

    @Tim
having been to Twickers with the hooray henrys (and had a lot of fun being the token kiwi) I'm reminded the population of London (and nearby counties) is a lot larger and richer than Auckland. But to be fair, I think that was your point.

I think the only reason why it's a double header was that the stadium in Nuku'alofa wasn't ready in time. So it's not so much an "idea", more a solution to a venue problem.

@dingo What I'm saying is that if a shitload of money is spent on a stadium in Auckland, then it is likely to become a national stadium. You might see only one test outside of Auckland per year.

Why? Are the NZRFU paying for the Auckland Stadium? The RFU own Twickenham. The NZRFU don't own Eden Park and nor will they own Waterfront/AN other new Auckland Stadium.

One of those players who look better in black, even his own admissions didn't start the super season well.

Nah - you guys don't turn out enough at rugby. You'd just get all the Warriors games there! 🙂
