RWC Draw

Draw and council vote on project players in the next week or so.
Band 1: New Zealand, England, Australia, Ireland
Band 2: Scotland, France, South Africa, Wales
Band 3: Argentina, Japan, Georgia, Italy
Band 4: Americas 1, Europe 1, Oceania 1, Oceania 2
Band 5: Africa 1, Americas 2, Europe/Oceania play-off, RepechageI'd like SA in our pool, I never like facing them in knockout games. Hopefully not Scotland, they are likely to be crap again by 2019, and I still haven't forgotten their cowardly B team selection in 2007.
Anyone but Italy from Band 3, Japan would be decent.

Throw in Portugal, Romania, grey change strip, Wayne Barnes and replays showing the ball travelling forward out of the hands and travelling forward and you'd have the jackpot.

I think I'd rather not get Argentina - given the possibility that we could be paired with South Africa or France, or even Wales. I think the Argies would be the only level three team with a chance of knocking us over (and potentially knocking us out).
South Africa/Japan/Americas 1/Europe 2 would be a good mix and put the fear of God in the Jaapies!

You must be pretty pessimistic to think that we would lose two pool games. One loss would be a massive upset from anyone but the Boks.
I think most people want the hardest possible draw, because the soft starts have made it difficult to get the team properly warmed up in the past.

Plus we played them 5 out of 8 comps.
The reality is that some games are more important than others and the Scots (and others) have concentrated more on winning 2nd spot. Makes sense.
I'd imagine that if we drew the Argies, whoever the Tier 2 nation is will probably focus on that match the most than the ABs one.

One tough pool game for us, the rest will be a walk.
