Parker v ??

Ffs it's boxing innit?! 😁 Fake news is real news in this business. I'm hoping that the surgery story is legit, and that's a key part of the testing the glass chin banter. Even if JP is feeling 5% sharper or more powerful that will give him more confidence.

Lucas Browne totally outclassed
-
Yeah and tbh, it's been a long time coming the moment he stepped in with a top 10 contender for Browne. He just has no boxing skill at all and has always been reliant on his right hand which has worked against lower level fighters. I hope he's ok but I think this could be the last we see of Lucas Browne.
It's also a bit disappointing for the division as we're unlikely to see Eddie Hearn push for Wilder Joshua, instead he'll try and get his wish which is what he's been wanting to do all along and match Whyte and Wilder together.
-
I'm not a boxing fan at all, but I saw that knock out and wondered whether it's OK to swing an overhead punch that hits someone on the back of the head?
I understand that the fat Aussie put his head there, but he still looked like it was the first one that did the damage, then he was set up for the big left hand finish.
-
Lucas is a good honest bloke , I know guys who have trained with him ,
But it says something for the weakness of the division , when a knock about bloke working as a bouncer , has his first fight ever at the age of 30 for a bit of fun , and ends up getting this far on little to no skill .
He cant believe it himself .
-
@kiwiinmelb Yeah he said as much himself in the gloves are off interview with Johnny Nelson and Dillian Whyte. He could still make a bit of money from the sport as a gatekeeper but judging from his inactivity up until this fight I feel that this was a cash out fight for him and we won't see him back in the ring.

Yeah Wilder has been saying this all along , saying Eddie keeps pushing Whyte at me , not Joshua and I dont want Whyte I want Joshua ,
Eddie wants to promote as many money fights as he can , and Whyte v Wilder is another one he hopes to push out first , with the winner fighting AJ, now Whyte becomes Wilders mandatory , so he might get his wish .
Lets hope Joe gets in there first and fucks up his plan
Also talk Eddie is working hard to sign up the two gypsies , Billie Joe Saunders and Tyson Fury.
-
@kiwiinmelb Yeah would be nice if Joe could pull it off as much as I can't see it happening.
Tyson Fury looks set to sign with Frank Warren from all reports as Eddie Hearn claims that Fury is demanding too much money for lower level fights which Eddie isn't willing to spend on. I think Eddie wants to fast track Fury into fighting AJ as soon as possible to get him out of the way quickly before he reaches his best again so for me, I think signing for Frank Warren is the best move for Fury.
Saunders has a good relationship with Warren and I can't see him ever leaving him. It's almost as believeable as Warren always claming that AJ is going to leave Eddie Hearn soon which he would be stupid to do.

The thumbnail headline: Joshua v Parker is our Rocky II

Has this happened yet? This thread is almost a year old.
Yes. It was a tie after a pigeon hit Parker in the face and cut him
-
@hooroo To me he's a 30% chance on winning. It'll have to be by KO as the cards are always going to be in Aj's favour.
In this last week AJ has had Under Armour up the ante on his advertising their lines. Beats By Dre just released an ad with AJ fronting. He is the white knight of the heavyweight division. He has a higher profile in the US than their own HW champ, Deontay Wilder, and there's a lot at stake for him and his "investors". The home country fight basically confirms Parker needs a KO because too many people and companies need AJ to win.
Parker has to fight the fight of his life and not get caught. Its that simple.

Cheers, that's all quite good to know. 30% is quite a good chance as it means that he can sneak it with a lucky punch and probably will stay for quite a while to have the time to get that punch in.
I'm really looking forward to it, I must admit.
The local publican is getting a bus on from the pub to his lifestyle block to have us all watch it at his place as he can't get a license to open on the Sunday.
Can't wait!

agree with the fern odds. Maybe 40% at a pinch if we believe how much the elbow issues have hampered Parkers strike power. I think he'll put up a good show and hopefully earn some respect even if it's in a beaten effort.

@paekakboyz I have a mate that's an orthopedic surgeon and he said it will defo increase his power. Just being able to straighten his jab will do wonders.
