Crusaders vs Stormers
-
probably was on $15-20k at Waikato, picked up a contract with Treviso for something like $100-150k, at 26 probably thought he had missed the chance at Super rugby

But Treviso?
Guys sign with 2nd Division sides in France and England all the time. Are you telling me that playing for a 2nd Division side in England is better than Treviso?
Come to think of it, Whetu was almost playing for a 2nd Division (Championship) ITM side in NZ, except that Waikato just stayed up in 2014. I doubt he's precious about it.
I reckon you sell 2nd hand cars for a living. You could sell anything, including the Treviso dream. I'm not personally fussed, but leaving a wee pay increase aside, I doubt he's genuinely too rapt about his impending move.
The likes of Luatau going to Bristol in the 2nd division is 100% to do with cold hard cash. Bucketloads of it. I don't think Treviso is offering remotely similar figures to Douglas.

Wee? Wee? You must earn a lot of money to think that an increase of up near $100K is "wee".
-
No movement in here yet - where are all the Canabs at?
6.5 minutes in and the Crusaders haven't had any possession
-
That's flattering, crusaders trying to play like the chiefs, but lacking the skill and talent
-
Stormers near on 100% possession and territory for the first 10 minutes, and they're finally on the board with 3.

Canerbry is going to lose his shit at that.
-
crusaders score on thier first visit to stormers territory
-
Bit dodgy there. Surely the Sader was holding onto that ball. Id be spewing.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel that was dodgy as fuck, nailed on penalty. Stormers getting some rough calls
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel possibly, although I tend to agree with the comms in that the player got himself in the position, but didnt really try to steal the ball, was a period a few years ago when refs pinged alot on that and used to wind me up no end
-
dumb decision by the FB there
-
@taniwharugby i used to do the same thing in that position. Con the ref because at your end a penalty is better than a turnover. Just gotta sell it
-
@mariner4life I know, easier to get yourself in a strong position and look like you are attacking it and they are holding it, but I think most refs are well aware of that con now
-
AB props under some pressure

I agree. He had the ball but he wasn't interested in it, he wanted a PK instead. By design or accident it was the correct call.

How did the Chiefs lose to these clowns?
Richie M the 10 has been great since his return.
-
That Richie Mo'unga is looking pretty bloody good.
When does Cruden bugger off? I'd say Mo'unga is a good shout for EOYT as the 3rd 10 -
Geez, this could get ugly.
Pass from Goodhue was pretty flat...
-
Bridge is getting tries on gold platters tonight.
-
Stormers backline defense is a little confused
-
@mariner4life about whether they should tackle or not?
-
That was a quality try!
-
@taniwharugby that too. Come in? Slide out? Man on man? The last two tries were too easy.
That one was harder to stop, great rugby
-
What have these 2002 vintage Warriors done with the Crusaders?
Some
Unbelievable passes being flung around out there - and sticking... -
Someone bring on the smelling salts, the Stormers are out.
-
I hope there are a few derby matches in the couple of weeks before the Lions series?
These cross conference games are not ideal preparation
-
some pretty average defence, but the Crusaders are still doing a great job exploiting it
-
The AB selectors are in the crowd. Richie Mo'unga has got his EOYT spot sorted based on this excellent performance. Geez he's good!
-
@Stargazer He's just lucky marty banks is leaving...
-
You know how to tell you're really up shit creek?
The ABs captain gets to halftime and his coach says put your legs up son, we'll finish off these bunnies without you. -
Ok, that's enough sleep Crusaders, you can snap out of it now.
Wouldn't want the Stormers taking too much advantage of your generosity.
-
Moanga 2 try assists for the Stormers in the 2nd half. Highlight reel continues
-
@mariner4life his EOYT ticket cancelled
-
Woeful work from the TMO there.
-
crikey, a few rough calls go against them, but man the Stormers been smashed on the scoreboard

I don't think the ref was entirely clear in what he was looking for though.
He said something like I've seen the ball grounded, but I'm not sure how it got there. To me that statement is left wide open to individual interpretation. -
shittest kick for touch there
-
aw man, Stormers with all the play, and an intercept...least that'll even up the half at 21-21....
-
Is not straight in the line out a thing anymore, or has it gone the way of the halfback putting the ball in the scrum straight?
