I don't think the ref was entirely clear in what he was looking for though.
He said something like I've seen the ball grounded, but I'm not sure how it got there. To me that statement is left wide open to individual interpretation. -

@KiwiMurph If you can get your hand on the ball, you are sweet, in the earlier game, had Ben Smith not touched the ball, I reckon he coulda been in trouble

I think it's pretty clear that you can't just blindly contest for the ball in the air. First you've got to assess that you're the best positioned player to go into the air to catch the ball. If the other guy is in a superior position to take the ball and you enter the contest then you're playing with fire.
Very good 30 minutes in the first half after a slow start. another good little burst in the second half to snuff out any thoughts of a Stormers' resurgence.
