This shit again?
Fuck. Right. Off
Because SA js starting to align themselves with Europe ... I can see why the Aussies are pushing to break up super rugby
that said, the Saffer bring in all the $$$, so not sure how good the party will be without them.
Are they really though? They've been saying this about Europe for years and nothing's happened.
The Kings and Spears are about to join the Pro 12.
The future makeup of the Pro12 will become clearer on Friday with the South Africa Rugby Union ready to confirm the Southern Kings and the Cheetahs will be cut from Super Rugby.
This time it seems to be happening - not just flirting, but getting stuck in
Do you have a link from anyone in the pro 12 management saying this is going to happen?

I'm certainly interested in learning how South Africa will fit its teams in the NH competitions and congested calendar.

Don't have any fucks to give for the tahs.
Only 14 turned up yesterday, then one guy got a fucking horrendous concussion off a high tackle 10 minutes in. Another guy did his groin cunning up to halftime.
Was 33-nil at halftime. 92-nil at the end. Fuck this.
If it makes you feel any better, we had it just about the same, only the first injury was a knee on the 45th minute and then cramps on the 60th to finish the game 12vs15.
It is a bitch to get everyone to show up and care enough. -

Not from management, but the closest I could find.
And the BBC have quotes from PRO12, but nothing specific I don't think.

Maybe it will happen but this has been talked about so often I just ignore it now. I wonder how the European teams will like playing on South African grounds at the height of summer ?

No money quotes yet, but it sounds like PRo12 are organising themselves for two extra sides next season.
As for the grounds - I'd say modern grounds will be watered so much they will be fine. It's the heat tha twill be interesting. January averages 39 degrees.

New South Wales has dominated the Australian Schools sides, despite both the state sides missing out on Saturday's final.
The Australian Schools side was picked after the four-day National Schools Championships this week, which ACT won for the first time since 1988.
ACT has supplied just two players to the national side
-
@NTA The selector is apparently from the ACT...
I also read that the NSW sides had coaching dramas just before the competition. I've always subscribed to the theory that you should select the better players and mould your own team anyway.
-
@antipodean youd have to wonder what the point of having the tournament is then.
Given the state of Aussie rugby, the optics of the selections are abysmal, talk about reinforcing a stereotype of Aussie rugby being Sydney private school centric.

@NTA great stuff by Beale, and i really like that jersey (as much as i can like any Wallaby jersey). Should be worn all year.
(on a much lower note, glad to see Beale smiling after the week he's had re: AFL house)
Surely he can do better than that? She's barely footy trip material.
-
@antipodean a bloke threw away a high paying job to hit it, so maybe we are missing something?

Well if we're going to throw money onto the roulette wheel, I'm doubling down on ATM...

Steven Moore was at kids training last night. He's a BMW rep and they had 4 (beautiful) cars there hoping perhaps to flog some of them off to the more well-heeled parents.
He seemed like a really good bloke. Stayed for ages and gave dozens of selfies, autographs etc., raffled some rugby balls. Embarrassingly my youngest said he just wanted to look at the cars (fark I hope Moore didn't hear that) and my eldest only gives a shit about skateboarding.
Anyway, I take my hat off to him. Obviously the Reds' appalling season gave him plenty of time for the visit, but he seemed to be a genuinely good bloke who enjoyed being there. While my own spawn didn't appreciate it, many certainly did.
Respect Mr Moore.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel Sounds like he should retire and become a cars salesman then.
