Gibsons just quit as Tahds coach. I look forward to Mark Hammett taking up the reins next season .
Just quit a couple of weeks ago?

Heard Gordon Bray extolling the virtues of St Josephs in Sydney. Their a,b and c grade sides went through the whole season unbeaten.
This not good. Must be some shoddy other teams in these grades and one school having ALL the talent can't be a good thing.

This is not entirely true.
Sydney private school sports is very weird. There is no single competition across Sydney for schoolboy rugby.
The teams play in different competitions/school associations with roughly half a dozen schools in each - GPS, CAS, ISA etc.
So when Bray says St Joseph's went undefeated - it is only against the other 5 teams in their association (GPS) - now admittedly their 6 team competition/association (GPS) is the strongest but it's still not the full picture.
There are some inter-competition/association games between these competitions/associations at the start of the year before they divide into their separate competitions/associations - I know St Joseph's 1st XV lost to one of the CAS schools at the start of this year.

@KiwiMurph they don't like inter comp games because the public schools occasionally thrash them 😉
Sydney schools Rugby is a fucking joke.
It's weird that there are so few games between the different comps. No idea why GPS and TAS in Brisbane can't play each other more often or even Sydney schools versus Brisbane schools. Such a ridiculous closed shop. I don't read the Courier Mail any more but apparently they're heavily promoting GPS schools rugby. That's nice for old boys and the parents who can afford to pay 20k plus a year to send their boys to those schools.

Did i hear that the "independent" review in to the Aussie performance is being conducted by Scott Johnson? Director of Rugby, part of the problem Scott Johnson?

Not fishing, just interested to know, what is his part in all this?

He was brought on board to oversee selections and make sure Cheika wasn't going off on a tangent (mission: failed). At the same time, he became a selector. Apparently.
Just another example of rugby's failures here: lack of desire to look the problem in the face.

yea, pretty much this. Not sure how you can conduct a review of a system you were in the middle of.

It gets better:
One of Australian rugby’s most respected voices, Rod Kafer, believes Michael Cheika shouldn’t be the only person held accountable for the Wallabies’ Rugby World Cup quarter-final exit and that sweeping changes to the Rugby Australia board must be made.
The same Rod Kafer who was appointed to a senior position developing elite coaches but has delivered precisely jack shit.
The only bright light in Aussie Rugby right now is our U20 program and expansion of women's rugby. Neither of which have guaranteed long-term prospects given the back office is a basket case.

Kafe has managed to teflon his way out of this, as everyone forgot he had an actual job.
Justin Harrison speaks pretty well for a dude i though was a deadshit. He was pretty much spot on yesterday. The whole thing needs to be broken down, from school up. Looking at the Wallaby coaching structure is titanic deckchairs stuff

Googy is a pretty smart guy (for a second rower with a coke problem ) and has existed outside the Sydney bubble long enough to see the massive systemic flaws.
