Black Caps in India

Thata boy Boult, sends Kohli on his way for 1 more then his average and we are just hanging in there.
Don't worry about the LBW call. Would have been "umpires call".

Haven't quite taken the wickets fast enough - they're 125/6 effectively 237/6.
Hard to think we can get 250 to win batting last, let alone any more. Someone would have to do something special! About the only trump card we have is that they've only got two seamers.

Not so Chris, Jeetan is just getting warmed up.
Another positive is that it would be tough to drop Henry after this performance, hopefully this will be the kick in the arse Southee needs. -
@Siam dunno, probably some sort of injury - but why not share the duties even if there is no issue? They're both full timers, so why not keep them fresh - shoulda been happening with baz too in my opinion, particularly if your keeper plays a long innings, why not give them a session off.
-
@Siam yeah I hear ya, but it's not that common to have in a team a very good keeper (baz) unable to keep for tests but who can handle Odis, and a semi-convert in BJ. I wouldn't advocate changing ad hoc, but a full session would allow people to have their heads around it I reckon, and a couple of hours with the feet up while a superior outfielder is on the ground would make sense. Can either of BJ or Luke even throw anymore?
-
@Siam you reckon rhythm and flow go right through the lunch break then?
If eg you're stuck in the field for two days on a road, it just makes sense to share the load. Especially if both keepers are pretty equivalent as keepers, and are both important batsmen. Best for the team in my opinion.

Yeah we are done, I was holding out hope that each wicket would lead to another flurry of wickets and keep the lead to 200ish. If we had worlds best batsmen Kane we could have been right in this with a few more on the board in our first dig.

A touch of nostalgia seeing Jeets go for more than 6 an over....

Well he did only arrive in India 24 hours before the start of the test...
-
Plan for tonight - send Guppy out in his ODI uniform and tell him to fucking go for it. He won't last more then 10 overs so he may as well smack 80 odd in that time.
-
Sooo....just 376 to win.
From the Monty Burns school of coaching ("You, Strawberry...hit a home run. .... I told him to do that!"), I'm pretty confident that if Guppy and Nicholls can each score a decent hundred then we'll win. Surely the others can do enough batting around them.
There's the formula boys! Get to it!
