Another thing.
Fekitoa isn't the answer at 13. Problem is that there aren't too many alternatives.
Moala or ALB at 12 with Crotty 13 for now.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel Once Moala gets fit he could come in. I think he's a better player than Fekitoa in every aspect, the problem for him though is that there is no real reason for Hansen to change a winning formula so I don't expect to see Fekitoa out of the centre position anytime soon.

as soon as strauss went off their set piece was fucked and it all looked a bit too easy - the saffas were looking decent before that. then their lineout went to shit and crockett smashed their scrum, may have been angling in but got away with it if so. coles was really good. ardie did a few good things, but also looked a bit lightweight at times. dagg good again, very nice making of space for todd down the sideline. as usual the smiths and the locks were excellent. out of character bad miss from kaino for the habana try, but he was good as usual other than that.
i've had enough of teams who are well behind on the scoreboard fucking about wasting time, and kicking ball away. have a go ya fucking pussies. -
One thing I want to see is that they keep ball in hand during the last play of the match, and carefully drive for a try. Its useful practice. Remember the come from behind win against Ireland.
Both the last 2 weeks, they played a bit in the last minute, then kicked the ball away. A bit frustrating. One of you, give Hansen a call, could you?
-
Agree with sentiments that we need to play England to see how good we are because we are smashing everyone else, Ardie needs a little more bulk although he has other intangibles. Bones that grubber kick from Ardie was pretty sweet I think considering the space he was in. If Fekitoa caught it it was on. Crotty was average and if he was Toeava the fern would have been crowing about him having tits for hands. That forward pass was awful but the Cantabs have been good at perfecting it and getting away with it. He is injured often. Because Barrett has been so dynamic he really has only to be a role player. The midfield is still not settled. I am not a Fekitoa fan but he tackles well, very well, and with the space he had really did not do much wrong. Winning by large margins does get boring. Was it a home town decision to bring on Todd because Squire was on the bench right? If Kaino is injured will this mean Squire will get a start or since we have won this thing do we start to blood the inevitable in Ioane?
-
@broughie Squire wasn't in the team. It was Romano and Todd on the bench.

Weird call, I know you can't dummy throw but early decoy jumpers I see all the time.
I think (think!) you can jump early but not lift early. They were bound as he jumped.
The above should not be taken as gospel.

I just wanted to say that's an appalling call. There was no roll, no grasping of the neck, it was nothing. If the guy has his head below the hips there is going to be high contact. Stop fucking up rugby you ref fluffybunnies!
An Ayoubism. Gardner was letting it go. Crap call.

Basically you can't jump or lift before the ball leaves the hookers hands. It is the equivalent of 'foot up' in a scrum.
While Gardner was correct and obviously wanted to clean the line out contest up for the game, it would have been better to have a word at the next break and warn them of going to penalties (same with the 'early movement call' on Coles). Owens or Joubert would have done that rather than disrupt the flow of the game which took an age to find any rhythm.
Get the game flowing first and your job as ref becomes easier IMO because players are operating more smoothly and making less errors.

Looks like Hansen and co know what they are talking about -Ardie needs to put on a few more kgs to warrant a starting role.
and get fitter.
It might just be the way he carries himself but he often looks like a forward equivalent of Sivivatu on an uninterested day.

South Africa are absolute world beaters, luckily for New Zealand we have political interference which allows your boys to remain competitive.
There are already very few teams that can keep up with AB's for 60 min, RIP those captivating matches we as spectators used to be treated to.
There is not a tier 1 coach in the world that would accept the criteria imposed by SARU. Until that changes, we will continue to unravel.

@Crucial can't say I agree. This wasn't an error in timing or execution. It was a deliberate transgression.
And i disagree that the referee's job is to get the game flowing first and then blow shit up he ignored earlier.
Sure don't go looking for an early penalty, but that was a blatent and deliberate breach.
