@SidBarret although do you reckon that a few of the SA players currently playing in the NH might look at playing for one of the SA teams there meaning they can move home and theoretically get more money?

You have look at trouble Wales have with keeping their talent in the pro whatever to see that it is unlikely that big name players will move England or France to join the sa teams moving up north

I see that Bundee O'Aki and Tyler O'Bleyendaal have been training with the wider Irish camp. Getting ever closer to being full jacket potatoes.
Tsk, tsk
It's Búndai McAchaí and Tadgh O' Bléghundáil -
Jackson and Olding are facing legal charges of alleged rape and exposure so they've been stood down by Ulster and IRFU. It's possible their careers may be at an end depending on outcome.
Henshaw and Ringrose both out with injuries until early 2018.
New backup 10 and midfielders needed. So unfortunately, the two NZ players will get capped.

Kings and Cheetahs got pumped in their Pro 14 debuts, by Scarlets and Ulster respectively. Disappointing from a SH perspective.
Not really. Reinforces that they needed to leave super rugby imo.

@Bones said in NH club rugby:
Seems their squads aren't really as strong as is super rugby too, looked like second string sides.
They werent complete first team sides from Ulster and Scarlets either but Cheetahs and Kings need time to bed in and wait on getting some players back. Give them time.

@Stockcar86 Great try, not sure why the opposition no22 had to put in a bit of afters when the try had already been made. All too common now.

The George Gregan - he could have dislodged the ball preventing the try. Also, I think if watch closely you can see 22 starts his dive while the try scorer was still diving - so not as late as first though.
TBH, I thought it was going to be a Richard Loe type completely after the try incident when I read your post.

The try scorer did look a bit like Carozza (pre nose-smear)

No shit it reinforces their lack of viability at Super level.
Regardless, it's not a good look. I would expect a low SR team to still be competitive at Pro12 level. This isn't European Cup rugby (which would be the equivalent of SR).

That is a great try. Nice link, thanks.
That acceleration through traffic as he takes the gap after his first left foot step was visually awesome.
It sorted reminded me of David Smith in his prime - step then accelerate

Kings lost to last season's Pro 12 winners, who are a more than decent side. Cheetahs by all accounts were competitive enough but got a harsh YC to go with their usual suspect defence.
I'm well aware of the setup of European club rugby by the way. I would expect the top Pro 12 sides, especially the likes of Leinster to be too strong for SR whipping sides.

Some people just like to compare players to lofty, unattainable heights.

@Pot-Hale Halfpenney, McNicholl, Parkes, S Williams, S Evans, Patchell, G Davies.
Doesn't strike as too much of a weakened backline...

Yeah, you're right, it wasn't that bad. I guess it's just something that gives me the shits.
