Gusty win for Leinster against La Rochelle.
Our work experience Georgian ref let Leinster get away with so much cynical play at the breakdown. How Kelleher wasn't penalised before he awarded Leinster a penalty (which turned out to be the difference) amazed me.
La Rochelle did well to get back into the game with a number of key players missing and losing both starting props to injury.

I still don't see why the SA teams are playing this European competition. None of them are up to the task. The Bulls were trounced (49-10) yesterday by an average Castres outfit, while the Lions suffered a 28-5 loss against Montpellier which was fielding an A' team. The Sharks were poor. They scored a beautiful try but were woeful during the other 79 minutes.
Are they just poor visitors or having the same success they had in SR? I'd have thought their game would translate better to the NH.

@antipodean I thought they had quite often sent understrength sides to games in Europe, saving the full strength for home games and their big crowds.

Was there a hurricane?
Yes there was, his name is Jordie.
Oh come on, daffy explains the joke and gets more likes?

you've been in the UK too long. Subtlety is creeping into your DNA.
Ah yes, the famous (ly overrated) British Subtlety. [insert Bennie Hill gif]

The Sharks were playing at home against Toulouse and were poor, even with their best possible team. Their forwards were crushed by their counterparts all game long. -

Seems to work both ways doesn't it? Don't the European teams take weaker teams to SA? Thought I read an article about it, the idea of Saffa teams being there is good (financially), but noone seems to enjoy the travel?

@cgrant you missed the Stormers vs Sale Sharks game?
English clubs are rubbish compared to the French ones. Exeter were beaten 69-12 by Bordeaux in England, while Northampton and Harlequins were well beaten by Stade Français (ranked 13th in the Top 14) and Toulon.
BTW, the Stormers were beaten at home by Toulon.
Concerning the Sharks vs Toulouse game, Toulouse had to play in a heat which they were not accustomed and were fielding a side without Ahki, Cros, Roumat, Arnold and their new prodigy, Castro-Ferreira. -
@cgrant I do agree on the French teams. T14 is by far the best club competition in rugby. The Saffer teams downfall at the moment is more the players who play all year. They need to have an 8 week break from rugby and it hasnt been figure out with the CC timing.
