Some dumb play from Leinster
Don’t deserve to win when you concede 17 turnovers
-
Great final. Even the kiwis couldn’t save Leinster this time. You will be surprised to read that there was a red card and that Dupont got motm.

Deserved on both counts. Arnold must be as thick as shit with that play in those circumstances. If Toulouse had lost he’d have been as loved as a ginger stepchild.
DuPont was just bloody good without having his normal wtf plays.

4 turn overs, by nine! Dupont is definitely one of the best club players in the world, his time at 7s had added more strings to his bow. He doesn't quite bring that across to international level against the to takes, still excellent but maybe he will to 7s

Over the last few months there has been a fair bit of North versus South 'who would win' and which 'club' comps are better. But I would like to point out that URC table topping club at home Munster barely beat traveling to the other side of the world, in their first game of the season worst NZ team saders.

@cgrant I'd back our top club sides to beat any of those Northern sides at a neutral venue. That's why I'm looking forward to the World Club tourney in a few years. I've seen about 20 'Dupont is the best player in the world' posts in the last week alone. The North really believe their own hype at times yet the Southern Hemisphere continues to dominate World Cups. No surprises really, we just play faster more skillful rugby.

In terms of competition, the Top 14 is a tight one with no weak teams, which isn't the case with Super Rugby. I agree with you : I guess the Blues and the Hurricanes, and maybe the Chiefs and the Brumbies could beat Leinster and La Rochelle any day. Toulouse are currently on another planet, though.

Brad Webber on adapting to French Club Rugby and Cortez Ratima -
Weber has also had to water down his iconic play style, uncharacteristically having not scored a try since playing for Stade Français this season.“Our team profile isn’t very expansive yet, at the moment we are very old school French, very kick, defend and set-piece orientated, so it’s taken some getting used to, and I’m certainly not picking up as many cheeky meaties down the middle of the park as I used to,” Weber said.
“I would like to run the stats, I genuinely reckon that I have box kicked more in these seven or eight months that I’ve been here in France than I have in my whole New Zealand rugby career, I’m serious, It’s crazy how much box kicking I’ve done.
“It’s not always been a strength of mine, I’m not sure that’s why they got me over here, so hopefully in the next few years while I’m over here we start changing our game plan, just a touch, to start using my strengths, but you can’t argue with the winning rugby that we are doing at the moment.”
The 123-capped All Black also shared his opinions on the Chiefs Mana making the Super Rugby final and the success they have had in 2024 under head coach Clayton McMillan, with players like Damian McKenzie and Luke Jacobson stepping up as leaders.
Weber additionally mentioned the season his replacement Cortez Ratima is having in 2024.
“It’s good to see him putting it all together and being consistent with his performance," Weber said.
“We often say he is exactly like Tawera Kerr-Barlow, I think he is very much playing like that.
“I’m bloody stoked, I feel like a little proud dad watching him go good.”

He's a good choice, I think for everyone but Australia and his team's, he's a great coach. When he was coaching the wallabies he let his passion go to far, you could see in the box, whining like a fan rather than a coach. Passion is great but not over common sense and clear head
