Hoskins was average as in the quater final. He looked disinterested at times. A long way below the form he'd produced in the round robin match against Wgtn. You wouldn't have known he was the best loosie in Super this year. Maybe too many minutes this season?

Well if he was playing with an injury it's a fucking gutsy effort... the kind Blackadder could only dream of.

So Hoskins is reportedly out with a knee injury now.
He must have bumped Blackadder in the lobby, contagious niggle.

Injured himself kicking the wall when not selected for Japan.
I blame Razor or anyone from Canterbury for their clear bias. -

I want to know of another loose forward that played as many minutes as Hos did, scoring anywhere near as many tries, or try assists, being as involved not just carrying the ball but as a distributor.
You say all that, but can he play the other side of the ball? 🙄

Probably code for "I give up"

This 2022 forward pack for the U20s is looking like a glimpse into the next few years. I reckon that loosie trio could be together in the senior squad soon enough.https://www.rugby.com.au/match-centre/68e899d9ee85768c5?tab=Player-Lineup

These injuries have the potential to be huge long-term I reckon... if the ABs struggle, and Lakai is brought in and goes well at openside, Papalii's chances of owning that 7 jersey (ever) take a huge dent.
Likewise, the injuries probably reopens the door to Samapeni Finau, because you'd imagine in any case he now gets the bench spot due to the desire for a specialist blindside?
Luke Jacobson and Ethan Blackadder also under threat of watching others go flying past them.

I see no evidence of that happening.
The guy was selected off no rugby, having never set the world on fire in a black jersey and is still being selected despite there being a high degree of certainty he'll struggle to be available 50% of the time. Baffling.

True, though part of the reason he keeps coming back is because nobody has taken the chance. Feels like we are about to see a bit of changing of the guard imo.

Injuries being the abs best selector, that's a first

Goes for every team ever.

We won't know the full story until Hoskins makes a sulky post on Insta
I would too after seeing every man and his dog go past him.
It is what it is. Good luck to him whether he chooses England or Fiji.

Now the conspiracy theory will be if this is an injury or a way of getting out of the tour
Yeah the reason for pulling out will be because he'll go to England. Watch this space.
Surely that means a call up for Brayden Iose. Oh forget it, someone like Cullen Grace will come in.
Dare I say it, Grace might be a better bet. Iose is the ultimate one-side of the ball player... eye-catching on attack, but probably lacks a bit of size, and not noted for his defending.
If Iose is only a one side of the ball player, then grace is no sides of the ball.
He was absolutely horrendous this year, up there with the most missed tackles by any player, and was usually too tired to carry, such was his poor fitness.
