Still too many experienced players adding fuck all continuing to get chance after chance off the bench
It's a fucken disgrace that Sotutu isn't in the squad.

Cmon Lander….seriously let the side down this week! 😃
Sorry mate. Haven’t been able to get the inside scoop this week other than the Love injury update. Hopefully find out more detail tomorrow or over the weekend but team has been named so unsure if there’s anything worthy of posting. If there is, I will.

Finally some confirmation of the Love injury. Stuff are a little slow with the news...
Ruben Love’s potential All Blacks debut has been put on hold after the Hurricanes fullback was ruled out of the remaining two matches of the Rugby Championship with a quadricep injury.
Had that confirmed on the 2024 thread a couple days ago mate, never mind stuff, they are slack! The fern wants the news now!

I know you broke the news. My criticism was directed at Stuff/NZ media.

Fast wingers good
Need to give Proctor game timeSurely if we win this Saturday, Proctor will get a chance in Wellington. Would be so dumb if he didn't.

Beaudy straight back in to fullback.
Dont really get it myself.
Id love him to prove me wrong but his goose looked cooked a long time ago.
I wonder if Love would have started if he was available.

...he will have another rocks and diamonds game....someone else will get a shot next week...who will get accused of showing their inexperience...BB will start on the EOYT....the circle of life continues

I highly doubt Love would have been released to play Sunday Shield game and then turn around and play Saturday in Sydney - the way they structure their weeks.
I doubt Tosi would be playing if not for Newell's injury

He definitely wouldn't.

Which means Tosi is nailed on for a blinder of a cameo.
Injury is the Allblacks best selector these days.

Let's hope we pump the Wallabies so we can try a few more players in that second test in Welly.
Literally the last venue to do that.
-
i for one am just happy to see high performance rewarded. the same guys doing the same things every week being rewarded with the same spots
Positives
Consistency. You can't say the coaches are blinking. They are locked in to this team, and they are sticking to it.Negatives
The fuck?
Jordan gets one game at 15, and then rissoled for the higher performing BBarrett.
Why are we carrying a small winger (playing poorly) on the bench when their move recently has been to move Rieko the wing for the last quarter? The same out of form so-called senior players are being continually rewarded with their starting spots despite basically stinking the joint out.
We will still pump the Wallabies and i expect them all to run riot, feel fucking great about themselves, and then get their asses handed to them up North. twas ever thus

We’re not facing a pumped up Ireland or Argentina.
We’re facing a broken, pathetic Wallabies team.
Less than a 50 point hiding should be considered a failure.

Why are we carrying a small winger (playing poorly) on the bench when their move recently has been to move Rieko the wing for the last quarter?I think they've picked what they think is their best available team. This is sort of a must win game to silence the punters.
Beaudy comes back in at fullback because Jordan was a bit anonymous vs the Boks, but more because Reece and Telea are struggling, so we need him to play wing.
Not sure why Sevu is on the bench. Maybe they're wanting to see ALB and Rieko together.
-
@Chris-B Agree, and we'll probably win, though writing the wallabies off on the basis of 40 terrible 2nd half minutes against Argentina is a little rich when we also lost to Argentina and had 2 x 20 terrible 2nd half minutes against SA.
If we win, then hopefully we see some meaningful change for game #2 - by which I don't mean give everyone in the squad a run, but look to the future and drop Cane, Savea, TJ, Beauden. Give Sititi a run in position. Aumua a start with the good props. Proctor another run. Jordan at fullback.
God forbid we lose, then we'll no doubt get largely the same team trotted out and continue to make no progress a la Foster. -

That's what I think too. It looks to be more about who isn't selected as much as who is. You still need to have utility cover on the bench which is why Jacobson and ALB are there instead of Papalii and Proctor, for example. It also doesn't help when the VCs won't be subbed or moved to other positions.
A moot point if the subs get so little time on the field to make an impact.
