Nothing do to with Wellington being synonymous with the Hurricanes. Its the Hurricanes region being discriminated against - TJP, A&J Savea, Coles plus players from the Hurricanes unions i.e Cruden, Aaron Smith, Brodie Retallick and Israel Dagg. The conspiracy is against the whole 'canes region. Even the traitorous Taranaki is being discriminated against by not releasing BB because we know they'll try to crawl their way back one day.

As everyone knows, when Hurricanes rugby is strong*, All Black Rugby is strong, so this is clearly Hanson's plan to ensure the next generation of 'canes isn't relying on the AB Squad cavalry to help them out.

* There is a direct correlation between the 'canes being strong and the AB's being strong.

2006 - Cane's make final and ABs win every match except one.

2015 - Canes make final - ABs win RWC and every match except one.

2016 - 'canes win, ABs undefeated (so far).

Co-incidence? Statistics says no.
-
Seems a fairly straightforward team. Here's what I'd go with:
Moody
Coles
Franks
Retallick
Whitelock
Squire
Cane
Read
A.Smith
Beauden
J.Savea
Crotty
Fekitoa
Dagg
B.Smith
Res:
Taylor
Crockett
Faumuina
Romero (Pat T's scrummaging still worries me)
A.Savea
TJ
Sopoaga
ALBTalking points:
Does Kaino get a rest? Pat T or Luke? Cruden's home ground, which would also argue for TKB.

When's the team named?

Seems an unlikely departure from standard practice.

@pakman Romero sounds like someone who should be playing for the Argies...
Jokes like that will do great things for your new fern rep Bones.
Saw a pic of the ABs on FB and Romano and Savea were putting a few scrums down. Could be a pointer for the weekend.

Very conservative selection. I don't mind, but the other lads might be wondering if they will get any game time.
My only complaint is Romano - what does he have that Tuipolotou doesn't? (experience I suppose...)

Apart from the Latin name, Luke R is considered a top scrummaging lock, whereas Pat T, whilst a powerhouse everywhere else, can't seem to put the rubber on the road in the scrums?!
