maybe a little random .... and can't see it happening -

But are we using NZs Stirling Mortlock too much at 12 rather than 13?

I just like the idea of Jordy hitting hard on to ALB short balls and deft little passes...

He’s also got the pace for centre as evidenced by his intercept

It's hard to detect sarcasm in print. You are being sarcastic right?

    No

I was using the confusing SH terminology

    He’s currently playing 2nd 5/8

You need more pace to play centre, especially speed endurance

JB has that, hence my comment

What JB have you been watching? He's not quick and he didn't look quick when he took that intercept.

He went in untouched from 51m

    Quick enough for me

He was handed the ball by the Boks while all their backs were in attack mode and he had to jink near the line to avoid being run down.

Very true and most would have expected them to chase down a cart horse

    But they didn’t

Fair to say he's so speedster. But he's no slug either

    Yep

He’s no Jordan, or his brother

But he’s fast enough for that role

If not, I hope Plummer gets a game against Australia. We know what DMac and BB offer, I want to see if Plummer can take his Blues performance up to test level. Just like Darry

Most likely outcome is Perofeta comes back and so Plummer drops out of the squad without ever seeing if he is up to the level

Yeah. Disappointing. I'd like to see a little more bravery in selection. Plummer was one of the two best 10s in the best team in Super Rugby. The other one was DMac. Perofeta couldn't even get a start most of the season. Wouldn't these guys be just a little curious?

I also can't see why anyone in their right mind would drop Rieko after the game he had.

At the risk of sounding like a degenerate Hater, can I ask what Rieko did to apparently be un-droppable?

That was his best game this year but I think even then he was still our least effective back ball in hand.

His defensive work was generally very, very good, positioned himself well with JB and he was effective at the breakdown. I don't think he's kicked on as much as we hoped, but that was a really solid effort and the JB/RI midfield worked pretty well.

Yeah but only if he’s less than 80% fit

Genuinely interested in what role you see him playing with the cattle in front of him.

I think DMac will be getting as much time as possible at 1st 5. Last night was only his 11th start at 1st 5 and he’s only played 6 tests off the bench where he was moved to 1st 5. Yes he’s got super experience at 10, but he needs to continue to develop in this role.

We do need other options no doubt about it and perhaps Plummer could be a 12 option, but it seems ALB has that bench spot sewn up.

Liam Messam and Steven Luatua really were around in the wrong era weren't they?

They'd play 100+ tests each if they were around today.

Nah, he's a Blues loosie not named Papali'i, he wouldn't get a run now.

Story of the season is surely Blackadder casting off his niggles moniker by being an 80 minute week in week out tyro.

    WPOTY incoming. 😀
